The next morning, Sunghoon woke up with his cheek still a little sore and a strong desire to call in dead.
But alas-poverty.
He dragged himself out of bed, slapped on concealer like it owed him money, and gave himself a pep talk in the mirror.
"You are a secretary. You are slaying. You are irreplaceable. You are-oh my god, why does my cheek still look like blush-on from hell?"
LYNX Corporation
Sunghoon arrived at LYNX Corp with a pair of oversized sunglasses and his hair slicked back in dramatic waves. He looked like a broke celebrity trying to avoid paparazzi.
He stepped into the lobby, already bracing for potential drama. But everything seemed quiet. Too quiet.
He passed the front desk receptionist-who gave him a small, almost sympathetic smile
He knew that this day, is gonna be a long day.
The moment he walked into his office.
Hell began.
His inbox exploded. His digital schedule looked like a war plan. The CEOs were not playing games today.
> 8:05 a.m. - Draft legal memo for Heeseung (35 pages) 8:10 a.m. - Update financial forecast for Niki (reformatting 60+ Excel sheets) 8:15 a.m. - Organize physical files from 2017 till now 8:30 a.m. - Coffee run (God forbid it's even lukewarm)
Heeseung walked past him in a black suit, looked at him once, and casually said, "Let's see if you're still smiling at 3 p.m."
Cold bitch.
Then Niki appeared with a stack of folders the size of a baby elephant and dropped them on Sunghoon's desk. "All this digitized before noon. No errors."
Sunghoon stared blankly. "Yes sir."
Minji passed by sipping her 'overpriced' coffee, not even trying to hide her smirk. "Aww, poor thing. Already tired? You poor thing they already broke you."
Sunghoon smiled sweetly. "Not yet, sweetheart. But if you keep talking, I might break you."
She scoffed and strutted away like a damn peacock in heels.
Sunghoon slumped dramatically into his chair like he just got shot in a war film.
He took a shaky breath, cracked his knuckles, and whispered to himself,
"Okay Sunghoon, you got this. Just six tasks due in three minutes. Just another Tuesday in hell."
His fingers flew across the keyboard. His brain was fried. His Google tabs looked like the dashboard of a hacker in a thriller movie.
By 10 a.m his coffee was gone. His will to live was on life support. His email pinged again.
From: Riki Nishimura
> "Chart in slide 11 is inaccurate. Fix it. Also, a new folder incoming."
From: Heeseung Lee
> "You spelled 'hereby' wrong. Twice. Proofread better."
Sunghoon wanted to scream into the void.
Instead, he replied with a professional:
> "Noted. Will correct immediately, sirs."
But under his breath he muttered, "Respectfully, choke."
At 11:30 a.m., he was organizing a cabinet from 2017 and found a folder labeled "URGENT - JANUARY." The dust made him sneeze so hard he hit his head on the drawer.
