"Toru? Are you awake?" You laid flat on the bed and your hands were placed over your upper stomach.

"You haven't called me that in a while," he turned over to look at you in the room that was pitch black all around.

"What? Toru? I thought you hated it so I stopped calling you that," you replied and looked right back at him too.

"Mm, it was the opposite. You'd say it when you couldn't get your words out when we fuck,"

"Oh...anyway, goodnight," you turned over so that your back faced him and pulled the blanket over your shoulder tightly.

"You woke me up to tell me goodnight? We've been laying in bed for two hours...what's up?" He leaned up and you could feel him closer to you, he placed his hand on your waist to get your attention.

You sighed and turned over, he was leaned up and waiting for you to explain yourself.

"Why did you lie to b/n earlier?"

"Why do you think I was lying?" You laid flat again and looked up at him.

"Because...I don't know. It's just what makes the most sense-"

"Wouldn't it make more sense for me to love you due to our circumstances instead of not loving you?"

"Goodnight," you tried to turn to your side again but Satoru pinned you flat on your bat by pressing down on your shoulders and placing himself on top of you.

"Stop doing that and talk to me," he demanded a but more authority-like than usual.

"I don't think you love me. I think you love b/n and love the fact that I'm his mother, that's it. Nothing more, nothing less,"

"That's not true. Not true at all and you know it,"

"How? How do "I know it"?"

"B/n didn't even exist three years ago. I love and loved you before then, for five fucking years-"

"Four." You interrupted and looked at him dead in the eye.

"What?"

"Four. We dated for four years so you loved me for four years not five. See! If you loved me then you'd know-"

"No, I've loved you for five...more than that if we're being technical but how long we dated and my love for you has no correlation,"  he lightened up on pressing down on your shoulders and instead kept his hand next to your head to hold himself up on top of you.

"You've been suggesting that I don't love you but what about you? You have yet to tell me how you feel,"

"Of course I love you! We have a son together! Why wouldn't I?!" You snapped at him and leaned up off the bed yourself, you turned at sat at the edge of the bed with your feet on the ground.

"Then why is it so hard for you to believe that I do?! If you do, why can't I?" he announced loudly, he sat next to you at the end of the bed with his hands over his lap.

"Because I'm afraid you'll change your mind." You sighed and rubbed your head because expressing how you felt to someone who was practically oblivious to emotions was exhausting.

"About what? Change my mind about you?"

"Honestly. Yeah," you finally gave him the little bits and pieces of things that had bothered you over time, all your Littles worries that he was oblivious to simply because you didn't tell him.

The both of you had to communicate, you a little bit more than him. He honestly could've communicated a little bit less but beggers can't be choosers. You felt a great relief after finally telling him but when you looked at him, he didn't look at pleased.
