Dhimahi's POV-

Last night, sleep abandoned me. The sun rose far too quickly, as if it couldn't wait for the day to begin. I called Trayambak early in the morning—today he's shifting Trinetra home.

Soon, his car pulled up. He honked once. I was already at the door, waiting. He stepped out and opened the passenger door for me.
“Mumma Papa se nahi milenge?” [“Won’t you meet Mom and Dad?”] I asked.
“Abhi nahi, abhi thode jaldi mein hoon, baad mein kabhi mil lunga.” [“Not now, I’m in a bit of a rush, I’ll meet them some other time.”]
I nodded—he really did look like he was in a hurry.

The drive was quiet. Neither of us spoke.

When we entered Trinetra’s hospital room, we found Dhanay sitting by her side—as he had been every day since he discovered she was alive. He hadn’t left her side even for a minute since the day Trayambak allowed him to be with Trinetra. He was terrified that she might disappear again, and he’d be forced to spend another lifetime searching.

Dhanay had managed to convince his friend—who owns the startup he works for—to let him work from the hospital. Thankfully, his friend agreed.

Trinetra’s condition was improving. She was beginning to respond. She can even open her eyes now. When we visit, she keeps them open, as if trying to hold on to us with her gaze. The doctors said that if she continued like this, a full recovery wouldn’t be far off.

Author’s POV-

Outside the hospital, hidden behind the shadows, a man stood in a doctor’s coat, whispering into a phone.

He was an assassin.

Assassinator: “There’s no guard in the room. Only she and our target are inside.”

Boss (coldly): “Good. Now go. You’re already dressed like a doctor—it shouldn’t be hard. Make sure you kill Dhanay in front of her. She must see him die. She deserves it. I want her to lose every bit of progress she’s made. But do not harm Trinetra. Understood? Burn this phone before you go inside. I don’t want any traces. You’re not allowed to back out—I need this done today.”

Assassinator: “Yes, ma’am.”

He crushed the phone under his foot, lit it on fire, and threw it outside the hospital. He turned toward Trinetra’s room—but just as he did, Dhimahi and Trayambak entered from the other end of the corridor.

Because of the turn in the hallway, neither party saw the other.

But someone else was watching. The boss—Nayanika—had access to the hospital’s CCTV footage.

Her calm shattered the moment she saw Trayambak enter the room.

Nayanika started panicking “No. No no no! Trayambak is inside? I can't... I can't risk this. I can’t lose my son! What if he gets hurt?! That bastard already destroyed the phone—how the hell do I contact him now?”

She threw everything within reach, her panic spiraling into chaos.

Back in the room, as Dhimahi stepped in, the sterile hospital smell overwhelmed her senses. It was too much. She rushed to the bathroom and began to vomit.

Trayambak followed, gently holding her hair back, rubbing her back.
“Are you fine, baby?” he asked softly.

She was about to respond—when they heard a loud crash from outside.
