Jamie just sat and listened as Addie told him about her plans for the night. He didn't like the sounds of them. But he wasn't going to tell her what she could and couldn't do. She was allowed to do as she pleased, even if it wasn't in his comfort zone. He wasn't worried because of her. He was worried because of the idiots he called his teammates.
"Sorry, babe." He cleared his throat. "It sounds like you're gonna have a lot of fun."
"You don't want me to go." She sighed.
"What? No, I do. I'm just worried." He admitted.
"Worried?" She snorted. "I'm twenty three years old, and you're my boyfriend, not my dad."
"I'm not worried about you, mouth." He rolled his eyes. "You realize the guys you're going out with are NHL players? They're complete idiots."
"Yeah, I know. I'm dating one." She smirked.
"I don't need the abuse." He spat.
She chuckled. "I'll be fine. I'm always fine. I'll text you if anything goes wrong."
"Alright. I love you." He exhaled.
"I love you too." She smiled.
She continued getting ready. She was going simple. She didn't feel the need to get dolled up if Jamie wasn't around. He was the only guy she wanted to impress. She still dressed in club attire. She needed to actually get into the club, so she had to dress decently.
Jason picked her up after nine. He didn't pre-drink, just so he could pick her up. They talked about Jamie their entire drive. They mostly made fun of him. Jason found a parking spot. They walked into the club together, budding in front of the line. A bunch of guys from the team greeted them. Addie hugged everyone and was handed two shots. That was the end of her memory of the night.
The group had spread across the place throughout the night, but managed to find their way back to their booth. They were all laughing amongst each other as the night was winding down. Addie was having a good time. She had been talking to Jamie's teammates about him for twenty minutes now. They all had nothing but good things to say about their captain.
"I love him. I really do." She nodded, placing her hand over head heart. "With all my heart."
"He really cares about you." Jason assured her.
"I care about him! So much!" She gasped. "He's the best thing, the best thing that's ever happened to me. My sweet, boyfriend." She smiled, leaning into Cody.
"He needs you." Cody stated. "He would've gone completely crazy this season without you."
Addie smiled. She loved hearing that she was as important to Jamie as he was to her. She was so in love with him. That's all she thought about for the rest of her night. Jamie. She took a cab home before the rest of the group. They partied too hard for her. She sent Jamie a text about how much she loved him. She got in her front door and passed out on her couch.
Jamie chuckled when he read her message. There was a mess of misspelled words. He got the jist of it though. She loved him. He decided two in the afternoon was a reasonable time to call her. The phone rang twice before it was answered. There was a lot of shuffling before he heard her groan.
"Rough night?" He teased.
"I hate your team." She whined, curling into a ball.
"But you love me." He sang.
"Yeah. I told everyone how much I love you all night long." She sighed.
"I love you too." He told her.
