James got off Fresco's back and leaned on his cane "don't worry Jamie, me and Fresco are just a little lost" he quickly signed "nap here while we figure out where we took a wrong turn" James grabbed Jamie and placed the 7 year old amongst the bags of trash. James placed a finger over his mouth as he closed the lid.

James took off his bracelet and sat down on the ground, letting his cane sit next to him. "We'll fight him together." James said.

Fresco turned to look at James and shook their head "No." they stated. "You're not ready to fight this kind of threat, it's not a bully at Brightmore who's close to your age." They pointed towards the direction that the hunter had come from. "This is an older, elite fighter of a god. They're the best of the gods children, set solely on killing everyone like us." they scolded "You hide, I'll distract, then you take Jamie and sneak off." They whispered.

"Well, it's too late either way, because he's here." James stated. "So We're both gonna fight him. We're more likely to win that way." James turned his bracelet into it's bow form. He pulled back on the string. As soon as he saw the male, he released the arrow. "we're not dying today." James stated. Fresco looked at him and smiled.

Fresco took off their carabiner and it transformed into their slingshot. Fresco pulled back and released it "come on, water brat. I know that's who you are" Fresco stood in front of James as hoplite armor formed from their clothes.

The green, ninja like attire shakes in the wind and transforms, even the material going from something that looks like cotton or polyester to a shiny bronze. the cement around them clung to Fresco's feet as a water stream shot at them both.

yet, Fresco held firm. James laid down, and looked between Fresco's legs to see the hunter. James pulled back his arrow and shot at the hunter's side. James breathed deeply.

He imagined his hand grabbing onto the arrow, and he moved it to the side, just out of the hunter's sight. He breathed shakily and pulled it back, striking into the hunter, the tip lodged into his skin. James still kept a hold of the arrow, so when the other guy tried to pull it out, the arrow stayed still. "Leave us alone." James demanded.

The hunter laughed, "you are no better than a lawless monster." He shouted "and I don't give mercy to lawless monsters. I've learned better." He said. The hunter made his water stream stronger. "Now die, you beasts of old." the stones around Fresco's legs fell back. Fresco walked forward, taking steps against the water stream.

James got up. He leaned against the wall. His breathing was heavy as he watched Fresco walk closer. The hunter was still trying to pull out the arrow that James had wedged into him, and James still had a hold. The hunter was looking at Fresco and James could see a glint in the hunter's hand.

James breathed deeply and grabbed the arrow. He slowly tilted it up, then he pushed all his divine power into it to push the arrow deep into him. James imagined feeling the other's insides. He wedged the arrow in as deep as he cold. The water stopped "Leave us alone." James stated.

"He's not gonna be a problem." Fresco stated, their armor turning back into their clothes. "You killed the dude, good job, prince." Fresco kicked the arm of the person out "pierced his heart. That's better than my first time with this game."

James' eyes widened, "wait- what? no- I didn't want to- I didn't want to do that!" He felt tears well up in his eyes "I didn't- I didn't mean to kill anyone, I just wanted him to stop attacking us and-" James felt his body shake, like he was about to fall.

Fresco looked back and grabbed James' cane. They picked up James, putting him on their shoulders. Then they went to the dumpster where James had hidden Jamie. Fresco picked up Jamie, holding the sleeping seven-year-old in their arms.
