Each class period ticked by faster than normal today. Maybe it was because I was nervous for lunch. I wasn't protected by teachers at lunch, and Kizumi could find me anywhere. I was honestly a bit afraid of him today. Well...I always had some sort of fear of him, but I was just more disgusted by him than afraid. Now I was probably more afraid than disgusted. I kept thinking about the things he might do to me while I was trying to fall asleep, and it just kept getting worse. I had worried myself into a corner.

The bell rang, startling me. It was time for lunch already. I thought about just going off campus...but then wouldn't it obviously look like I was running? Besides...if he happened to see me leave, he'd definitely take that chance to beat me up, I was sure. Ugh...why did I have to be assigned as his partner for english? Though...I probably shouldn't have worried myself to this extent either.

I took a breath and then stood, heading to my usual table for lunch. I couldn't just run away from him. Even if he really did want to beat me up, it wasn't like I could stop him. He was much bigger than I was, that's for sure. I might as well just face my fears. Besides...there was a chance he wouldn't beat me up, right? And just as I thought that, Kizumi's eyes caught mine. I had barely reached the table, and Kizumi already started walking over to where I was. I kept thinking, I'm dead over and over again as he approached.

"Well?" He said when he reached me. "Did you finish your worksheet?" I knew what he was talking about. I had been so distracted yesterday that we didn't get the chance to compare answers and write comments on each others paper like we were supposed to.

"Oh...uh, yeah..." I said. He held out his hand.

"Give it to me." He demanded. Hurriedly, I dug through my backpack and pulled the sheet out. He snatched it from my hands, then tossed a piece of folded paper at me. As he walked away he muttered,

"Idiot...you're wasting my lunchtime." And he disappeared inside. I unfolded the paper he tossed at me and looked at it. It was his worksheet. I sat down, and just as I did that, my friends surrounded me.

"Oh my goodness, you were just talking to Kizumi." One of the girls said.

"What did he say?" Another asked. I sighed tiredly.

"I just forgot something in english yesterday...its not a big deal, you guys." I pulled my lunch out and they all glanced around at each other.

"Yeah, sure but...he didn't hit you or anything?" One of them said. I shook my head.

"He did call me an idiot...but that was about it." I was surprised myself, but so completely relieved he didn't hit me. I almost felt tired because I had worried so much. They all looked surprised and shook their heads.

"That's nuts...He doesn't usually go that easy on people." They all nodded and I nodded with them.

"Yeah...I've gotta do this, so don't distract me too much, okay guys?" I asked. They nodded and talked among themselves. I looked down at the first question, noticing how familiar it sounded. I had written almost the exact same thing. Only, I had used a couple different words. The other ones were similar to mine as well...it wasn't that we had both gotten around the same idea, we had almost written the exact same thing. Of course, it'd appear normal to someone else because we were supposed to work on the essay together, but the thing was, we had done it completely separate.

Odd...I expected his work to be completely different from mine and with little effort put into it. His sentences were fluent, though, and his word choice was very close to mine. The teacher was right when she said he was smart...he just didn't appear that way to me because of how he acted. Maybe I shouldn't be so quick to judge him. Again, it made me wonder who Kizumi really was...
