Disclaimer: I do not own Cult of the Lamb. I am simply a fan of the game. I was inspired by Jbrine061. Please check out her story. She is amazing. Now onto the story.

Narinder had watched her go. When he thought she had left, Narinder went to go home, but turned around again after hearing something. He thought he was seeing things when he saw her take flight. Narinder knew that she was a Phoenix or something like that... and flight was probably one of her abilities aside from magic. It only made him more eager to learn more about her the next time she came. Not to mention he felt butterflies afterwards... In the coming days, Narinder kept an eye on his territory to see if Rose had returned. He kept this from his siblings, not yet telling them about the woman he met. Rose had sent him a message that she would come in a couple of days, asking if that was alright. To say he was spooked from receiving a magic letter was an understatement. Fortunately, Rose provided an explanation as to what they were and sent over an extra sheet for him to write a reply.
Narinder wrote his reply, read the instructions she wrote a couple of times, and then sent it. Narinder was knowledgeable in a couple of types of common speak, Rose's type being one of them. In his reply, he said that in a couple of days would be fine. From what her letter said, it sounded like she wasn't as sad as before, but he could tell that she was still grieving. Some of his followers had married, and some lost their spouse. The grief looked so painful... and he was sad to lose his dear followers too. Narinder had never fallen in love, but he could only imagine what losing a devoted partner would be like. Narinder made sure he was free to see Rose again when the time came for her visit. Before he knew it, two days passed and he was waiting for her. Rose flew in and landed at the place she first arrived before she had climbed up a tree to mourn. Speaking of which... Narinder was sitting in that very same tree.
"May I join you?" Rose had flown up to him.
Narinder looked up from the book he was reading. "Allow me to move."
"I can sit on the branch next to you." Rose suggested.
This time, Narinder could see her wings and admired them. "Of course." He watched as Rose sat down on the branch and tucked in her wings.
"It's good to see you again," Rose said once she was settled.
Narinder closed his book. "You as well. I brought you tea and some fruit. My bird followers said berries and nuts are a favorite of theirs."
"You're too kind, thank you," Rose smiled. "I have the unintentional tendency to surprise everyone when I say I'm omnivorous."
"Not a surprise at all. One of my followers was carnivorous. I just wasn't sure." He told her.
"All you need to do is ask." She said.
"It crossed my mind after I sent my letter back, I had no paper." Narinder mentioned.
Rose realized her mistake. "I didn't think to send an extra piece of paper..."
"You did not. Perhaps your next letter could have some?" He requested.
"A whole stack for long-term correspondence. The paper is made from recycled materials too, to avoid hurting the environment." Rose explained.
"Is your environment in danger?" Narinder inquired.
"It was from all the war and turmoil that had recently ended. Things are better now than they were fifty years ago, though." She said.
"I want to show you something. When you finish your snack." He said.
"Oh?" Color Rose interested.
Narinder only nodded and had tea with her in the tree. Rose quite enjoyed the meal she was given. The berries were sweet and the nuts added a salty taste. The tea was very pleasant too! It was nice to have a tasty snack after a while. While she ate, Narinder wrote in his book.
