Bringing Liliana to the library was a good idea. She made a beeline to the book shelves the moment she stepped inside and it was the first time I've saw her so happy.
Even now with her knees up with the book leaning against it, she seems to be transported out of this world.
She was no more guarded. The walls she build where down. And even if's for a few hours, she finally seemed like a normal woman.
Not the one that she needed to be so bad to keep people away but the one who was exhausted of constantly fighting and finally got to have a break.
We walked towards the wall and pressed a button that would turn the left book shelf backwards and made room for a bed on the ground along with a button to dim the lights.
The process was silently so that we wouldn't disturb Liliana and we got on it and pretend to read while watching Liliana read.
I looked at the book cover and noticed that it was one of Willow Winters books with the number 8 and smirked. This was going to be fun.
"Don't make a noise" i mind linked to Silas and Max and they nodded while also watching Liliana.
"Am I the only one who is concerned about Lily's past" I asked while looking in the book but not actually reading.
"She didn't know the safe words, even thé standerd one, her father starved her, if where going for what she said about 'returning the flavor' or the way she fell unconscious from lack of nutrition and I'm guessing something terrible happened in her house to make her stumble backwards when Silas opened his bedroom door"
Something wasn't right about this whole situation and the fact that her father faked her signature and saying that she was a troubled child while she did nothing to cause trouble so far, didn't sit right with me.
Yeah, I admit we shouldn't have made the deal for her father to sell his daughter for some cash, but we thought dhampir's where viscious, merciless creatures from the experience Max had as a child and the stories the people said that they where dangerous.
