ADRIANA WASN'T SURE WHY SHE DECIDED TO COME HERE. maybe it was because chris had asked so casually, like it wasn't a big deal. like it was just another hangout between two people who used to know everything about each other. or maybe it was because of how things had been lately, how they kept finding themselves in the same place, talking more, looking at each other a little too long like neither of them knew what to do with the history still sitting heavy between them.

adriana smirked. "she always liked me better anyway."
chris glanced over his shoulder, grin already tugging at his lips. "still does."
sure enough, the second his mom spotted her, she froze mid-sentence and practically lit up.
