FBI,s pov:

Heh. Today's the day.
First day on the job—and yes, maybe the whole "bodyguard" gig is just an excuse. But can you blame me? UN is here. And that's reason enough.

I straighten my jacket, heart beating with the familiar buzz of anticipation, and step through the building's main doors.

And immediately spot... him.

EU.

The sight wipes the grin off my face for a heartbeat. Memories flicker—our messy history, the kind you don't bring up in polite conversation. I look away before the old tension catches me.

Then—there.
A shimmer of white.

UN.

"UN!" I call, maybe louder than I should. The wings turn, and the warm smile I remember from years ago lights up the corridor.

"FBI! What are you doing here? Wait—don't tell me you're my new bodyguard."

"Yup." I can't help the smug little tilt to my smile.

Before I can say more, a blur of movement barrels toward me. NATO. He nearly knocks the breath out of me with a hug.

"FBI! It's been forever!" He pulls back just enough to glance toward UN. "Oh—hey, babe."

I blink. "...Babe?"

UN laughs, cheeks tinged pink. "Oh. Right. NATO and I started dating last week."

For a moment, I manage a grin. Inside, my thoughts whirl.
Well. That complicates things.

Still, I'm not here to give up easily—and not necessarily for the reason everyone thinks.

I glance sideways. EU stands stiffly across the hall, his stare fixed on NATO and UN like a storm cloud that hasn't decided where to strike. There's something dangerous in that look, something I remember too well.

A shiver crawls down my spine. Same old EU. Still unsettling... and yet... part of me misses when we were all friends. Before everything went wrong.

UN turns to me again. "So—how have you been these past few years? You just vanished after high school."

"My parents had to move," I say with a shrug. "Sorry I disappeared."

UN's smile softens. "No, no—it's okay. I just... missed you." He glances at the clock. "Oops, I've got a meeting. NATO, can you give FBI a quick tour?"

"Sure thing," NATO says, still grinning.

The building is quieter as NATO leads me down a corridor past the cafeteria. I'm about to tease him about his new job title—boyfriend—when a shadow slips around the corner.

EU.

He stops in front of us, posture sharp as a blade. "Well, well," he says, voice smooth and cold. "I was just thinking about you."

NATO's expression tightens. "What do you want, EU?"

EU's eyes flick from NATO to me. "Looks like everyone here wants UN's affection. Guess we'll see who wins in the end."

"I'm already dating him," NATO says evenly.

EU tilts his head, a small, unsettling smile tugging at his mouth. "We'll see."

Then he turns and walks away, his footsteps fading into the hall.

I let out a breath I hadn't realized I was holding. NATO's jaw is clenched; the easy grin is gone.

"When will he get it through his head?" he mutters. "UN isn't a prize to fight over. He needs to back off."

He strides away before I can reply.

I watch him go, a slow grin curling at the edge of my lips.

Well, well. If NATO's this rattled already...

Looks like my plan is working.

After all, I'm not really here to win UN.

I'm here to see if NATO notices me.
