Season 2
Episode 12:
RubiconI get inside and Raven looks over. "Hey, Arty's here." She says into the radio. "Arty." I hear my brothers voice and smile taking it when she holds it out. "Hey big brother." I say back. "Glad you got in okay." I tell him. "Yeah I'm okay. That's it on good news. We have to talk fast. Something changed." He tells me. "What's going on?" I ask him.
"Jasper, Monty, everyone. They just locked them in the dorm." He tells me. "But they're alive? All of them?" I ask hopefully. "I think so, for now. Maya says they're already using their blood, and things are gonna get ugly in here real fast." He explains and I frown. "Maya. That's the girl Clarke told us about, right? The one Jasper likes." I ask and hear him chuckling.
"She's right next to me. And yes, she's the one who helped me escape. If not for her, I'd be dead." He tells me. "Well, thank you for keeping my brother alive." I say. "I disagree with a lot of what they've been doing." A girl speaks. "Well, I kind of have an idea that no one would like." I say and the ones with me send me confused looks.
"I'm not going to screw Jasper over and let her die." I tell them and they all nod. "What is it?" Bellamy asks me. "Is she up for getting the bone marrow?" I ask him. "No. It's really painful, and you're friends have been hurt enough today." She answers me. "Look. I may not like the rest of the people in the Mountain, but Jasper's a good friend of mine. I refuse to be the reason he loses a girl he really likes. Take it, so when we come save those idiots, you can come with us." I tell her.
"I'll think about it." She tells me. "Good. Until then, Bell, Raven is gonna walk you through finding the acid fog and shutting it down. And find out a way to free those prisoners and throw around the new title. Get them fired up. I'll keep them looking at us." I tell him handing the radio off. "What are you going to do?" Octavia and Nate ask me. "Keep them looking out. Not in." I shrug.
"Arty. There's something you should know." Clarke says moving to my side. "What is it?" I ask her. "I just talked with my mom. The guy you guys brought in, from the mountain?" She says and I nod. "What about him?" I ask her again. "He has genetic markers in his blood. From someone on the ark." She tells me and I pause.
"They already started bleeding them out. Well... the Mountain is about to learn why I earned this title." I say and Octavia smirks. "I'm excited now." She chuckles. "Hand me that mirror." I tell Raven who grabs it handing it to me. I pull the small jar of war paint Lexa had given me and hand the mirror to Nate. "Hold this?" I ask and he nods.
I open the paint and touch up my war paint, making it darker than it was and see Nate and the others grinning. "This is so fun to watch. I want a fancy design." Octavia pouts playfully. I chuckle softly as I finish up. Nate puts the mirror down as I turn. "I need back up besides you guys for this." I mutter and they gasp in offence.
They follow me as I walk outside and to the grounders. "Wanheda. Are you here to train?" Keran asks when he spots me. The others turn to us. "Not yet. I need some backup for a threat I'm passing on. Any takers?" I ask them. Keran and Mira both step up first with smirks. "You made your paint darker. I'm intrigued." Indra says stepping forward as well.
Ryder, Maro, and Leon step forward as well and I turn heading back inside. I get to the airlock where the man from the mountain is. He looks up, pausing as he sees me. "Get dressed. You're coming with me." I tell the man. He stares at me for a minute, and when I reach for the button he quickly grabs the suit he had.
He puts it on quickly and when he nods, assuring me it was sealed I open the door. I turn walking out with the others flanking around me. I head for the gate hearing people mumbling and watching. "Artemis, what are you doing?" Abby asks me and I ignore her. "Artemis stop." She says stepping in front of me and I glare at her. "No. You're not in charge here. I'm letting him go." I say simply.
"He hasn't told us anything yet." Abby argues. "I don't care. He's going to tell his leader something." I tell her. She moves to step closer and the warriors stop her, hands on their weapons. "Get the prisoner back to the airlock now." She says. I hear the sound of them unsheathing their weapons and smirk. "You may think you're still in charge. But everyone knows it's me who they listen to Abby. You'd do well to get on board." I tell her and she sighs at me.
"Indra. Tell your people to stand down before this gets out of hand." She says looking past me. "We stand with Wanheda." Indra replies and I smirk. "People could get hurt." Abby says looking back at me. "Not if you get the fuck out of my way." I glare at her. She finally moves and I walk past her with the others still flanking me.
"The Grounders trust Artemis. And so do I. Maybe you finally should too." Marcus says watching the girl he saw as a daughter. "Stand down." He calls to the men on watch. "Open the gate." I call and it swings open. "Can you hear me in there? I don't repeat myself." I tell them man who nods. "Loud and clear." He responds. "I have a message for your leader." I tell him.
"You're watching us, but you haven't seen a thing. Our army is bigger than you think, and even if you could find it. Your acid fog can't hurt them. And now, thanks to you.." I trail off plucking the reaper stick from him. "Neither can the reapers." I say waving it at him. "You have one last chance. Let our people go, and I'll let you live. It's that simple." I smirk at him. "I got it." He mutters.
"It's what... 8 hours back to Mount Weather?" I ask grabbing the piece to his oxygen tank. "You're gonna do it in 6." I smirk at him and he looks at me shocked. "6 hours? That's not enough. How am I supposed to deliver your message?" He asks me wide eyed. "That sounds like your problem now. Just make sure they remember the moto out here. Jus Drein Jus Daun." I smirk at him.
He turns and leaves out the gate breaking into a run and I turn, pleased with myself. The grounders behind me, including Indra and my two close grounder friends, look at me with shock. "What?" I ask as Nate, Octavia, Clarke, and Murphy snicker. "Who taught you that saying? I didn't get that far yet." Keran asks me. "Heda Lexa did. We talk quite a bit." I shrug.
"Let's go train Keran. I want to learn more grounder words if it means seeing that look on your faces." I smirk walking past them. "Close it up." I call over my shoulder. "Murph, you coming?" I ask and he runs over joining me. "Hell yes I am. You, are amazing." He grins kissing my head as Keran and Mira join us, teaching both of us Grounder slang.
