It was a sunny Saturday afternoon, beautiful and bright on the little suburban street in my neighborhood. And that's just how it was supposed to be—a casual and peaceful Saturday afternoon. My radio on the windowsill blasts tunes, the window cracked to let in a little breeze, as I pipe scrolls on the cake I'm baking for my nephew's birthday tomorrow.

So when a crash erupted from my living room, could I really be blamed for the distinctly undignified screech I let out... no, I don't think so.

"Yippee kiiii~~~ AHHHH SHIT,"  icing went flying over the counter as I squeezed the piping bag too hard.

"What the fuck was that."  Thoughts flew through my head as I set aside the piping back, "I live alone, and Oscar grew out of his propensity for knocking things off the mantle... do I even own anything heavy enough to make that noise..."

"Surely, no one is stupid enough to break in when I'm so obviously home... or did they do that on purpose. Am I about to be kidnapped?"

At that thought, I grabbed a knife out of the knife block on the counter, mentally cursing myself for leaving my phone to charge on my coffee table, and I slowly crept to look around the arch separating my kitchen and living room. The sight that greeted me nearly had the knife slipping from my palm, the being in my living room was certainly not human. It... He... had deep purple skin and long black hair that fell past his neck and over his shirtless chest. Tattoo-like marks climbed down sculpted arms and strong hands with fingers that looked like they were each dipped in ink and capped with a sharp black claw. My gaze shifted once again, and like a ton of bricks, the realization hit me: "OH MY GOD HE'S NAKED!"

A/N: This was written as a writing warm-up, a 30-minute prompt; this is how far I got for this session.
