growing up:
- after getting custody of the girls, the teens gave them free reign over whatever they wanted to do for their rooms.
- they had built the girls their own rooms, and granted they were small, both kids appreciated it deeply (even tho most nights they have a sleepover with each other or their brothers)
- rosie ended up decking out her room with anything and everything purple. purple bed spread, purple bed frame, purple lamp, posters with purple on them, a dresser pope painted purple for her. if it was purple, she insisted they buy it.
- john b has no idea where the sudden purple fever came from, but he granted all of her wishes, unable to deny the sweet, excited grin always on her face.
- she painted her room the color lilac, sarah and john b doing most of the work while rosie bossed them around.
- jj made cora help.
- cora chose the color teal for her room. kie painted turtles on a small section of one of the walls, adding in whales and dolphins at the young girl's request.
- cora didn't have a theme for room, just wanting everything she found appealing. she got a bed frame that had bunny ears on the top and her bedding was a mix of bright colors -- pink, green, and blue. she kept the stuffed animal that was a hammy down front and center between all of the other ones -- old ones and new ones jj bought her.
- while john b was pretty good at saying yes and no, jj went through a short stage of only saying yes and giving cora whatever she asked for. he bought her every thing she said she wanted, spoiling her as much as he could. he finally had the opportunity and money to give her whatever she wanted. he just wanted to keep the smile on her face.
- eventually kie made him pull in the reins on the excessive spending, telling him cora can still be happy without being spoiled by materialistic items. she was spoiled in love and care from her brother and all of their friends.
- the girls quickly got used to homemade meals, often helping however the older ones let them, even if it was just setting the table.
- one time, cleo had turned her back to the stove for five seconds, rosie burning her finger in the quick time. the scream of pain scared the hell out of all of them, all of the boys panicking at the little girl's pain while the girls acted like mature ones and got her the help rosie needed.
"the little rascal moves fast!" cleo exclaimed.
"why is an eight year old around the stove?!" john b stressed.
"would you guys shut up?!" kie snapped while consoling the girl.- cora gave rosie an ice cream to help both cool her finger off by holding the cold bowl and then she can enjoy the sweet treat as compensation for her pain.
- while cora and rosie often wanted to sleepover in their respective brothers' rooms, there were quite a few nights they weren't allowed to or got locked out.
- the two had asked pope and cleo why they weren't allowed in the rooms. pope just gave them the excuse "they're learning how to do taxes. very important stuff."
- while rosie was hesitant to believe him, cora was innocent enough to easily accept the answer and move on, but not before asking five gajillion questions about whatever taxes were. (the girls hate that they were ever old enough to learn the truth)
- they all got into a schedule of waking the girls up for school, making them breakfast and lunch, and taking them to school. kie and sarah usually made sandwiches for lunch with some snacks -- both healthy and unhealthy. cleo and pope made breakfast while john b and jj helped the girls get ready.
