Sunlight beamed through my window, a reminder of today's special occasion.

The Day of the Sun is today, and there's been talk of it throughout the kingdom for a while now. It'll be nice to have something to bring everyone together, and give everyone a chance to unwind after all the stress recently...

I get up from sitting on my bed, just finishing tying my boots. I'm about to leave the room when I spot a note on my desk. Curious, I walk over to it.

"When did this get here-?" I mumble to myself as I pick up the piece of paper and read.

Sabre,

The line between spirits and the living has blurred. I've kept them from intruding into the Realm for the past few days as they gathered strength, but today is when the boundaries are at their weakest and the souls at their strongest. I cannot hold them back any longer.

Please, keep them from making themselves known. I'm sorry to burden you with such a task, but I am unable to do anything while they're in the land of the living. And they are not happy with recent events. I do not know what they will do to the Steves, friend or foe, but the people of the kingdom cannot find out they exist. If they do, it'll expose all of us.

'C' again... I think I have an idea of who it could be, especially with some of the things said in this note, but- wait. If it is who I think it is, then the spirits mentioned are-

Oh no.

And as if on some kind of cue, I hear voices begin to echo around me, accompanied by translucent, wispy forms with familiar patterns of zeroes and ones all around them.

"Hiiiii Sabre!"

"Are you doing alright? You've seemed off recently."

"Oooh look, the streets outside are covered in decorations!"

"That reminds me of something- what was it again?"

"You've got friends in your walls."

"Where's that punk from earlier? I'd like to have a word with him."

I anxiously pull at the ends of my hair, questioning why this had to happen today of all days. A day where everyone will be out and there will be no chance of these spirits of past Code Jumpers not being seen. Why couldn't this have happened during a thunderstorm? Or winter? Or any time other than today!

"All of you, please, please just go back to Catherine! I can't have any of you being seen by the Steves!" I say to the spirits. They either roll their eyes or make a pouting face.

"But we only get an opportunity like this once in a long while!" One of them whines.

"Besides, there's some people we want to give a piece of our minds-" Another starts, but I interrupt.

"NO. No no no no no, none of that. You can't do that."

"Too late. Someone's already at a Citadel window."

"WHAT."

I quickly turn around and look out my window. It's early morning, there's not really people out yet. The light of the sunrise slowly creeps across the land, making the dark of night pull back like a curtain.

However, I see a Code Jumper spirit floating in front of a window to an upper story. They're peering inside, and I swear I see them grin. I curse under my breath as they start to press their hand against the glass, phasing through it.

Although they suddenly pull their hand back and look around, and spot me staring at them from my house. Taking the chance, I frantically signal for them to stop and get back over here. They just stare for a while, but after a few minutes of us signaling to each other they seem to sigh and vanish to thin air. Moments later, they appear behind me with a grumpy look.

"Don't. Do that." I groan, placing a hand to my beating heart. I was so worried someone was going to see them.

"I wasn't gonna do anything, I was just gonna have a talk with the Yellow Leader..." The spirit mumbles. "...Maybe spook him a little."

"No! No scaring anybody, no fighting anybody, no doing anything that'll make you seen! Do you have any idea what'll happen if one of the Steves sees you?!"

"Uh... nnnnnooo?"

"They'll find out that we still exist! That's what!"

I sigh and run a hand through my hair. Today was supposed to be an opportunity to have a chance to lower my blood pressure, not this. As I'm thinking though, I get an idea.

"Hey... why don't you guys do something that'll help me out, if you want to get involved with what's going on so badly?" I ask. If any lead I try to find comes up empty, might as well get some incorporeal ghosts' help. They'll probably have better luck than I would.

All of them turn to look at me, curious and eager.

"...Go on. We're listening." One of them replies.

"What if you guys try to find anything about the Blues and Indigos being cut off from their dimensions? As long as you're not seen by anyone living, of course. It'll help make finding a solution a lot easier, which means that it being a problem will pass sooner... which would also lead to less people acting stupid because of stress."

The spirits gathered around me all smile, their faces lighting up with excitement. One in particular jumps up and exclaims;

"Aw, yeah! Let's go fight some demons!"

"Wait, wha-?"

Before I can ask, they've already disappeared, practically cackling. They were all... very excited about whatever that was. At least if they do end up finding anything, it'll help me figure out the issue with the dimensions faster...

I take a second to peer out of my window again, and none of the spirits are out there. I see the Blue Leader standing behind the window one of them was about to phase through, looking around. Did he sense that spirits being there? I sure hope not. But it seems like they've all gone off to do whatever it is they're going to do.

I head out of my room, hoping that they don't change their minds halfway through the Day of the Sun.
