The teary eyes of a young woman can be seen, then pleading sounds from her voice. 'Please! Let me go!' she screams. As she lies there on a cold, concrete floor, unable to move as though she had been paralyzed, with a shadow of a figure standing over her. The figure raises its arm with what seems to be a sharp weapon in its hand. 'NO! NO! NOOOOOOOO!' yells the young woman as she starts to get struck with the sharp object, over and over again with blood gushing and spilling everywhere.

He opens his eyes, alarm clock sounding, a little bit of sweat on his forehead. He switches off the alarm clock and lies in bed a while; it's morning and time for him to get to college; his name is George Rogers and he is a 19-year-old from a small town called Blueberry, now living in an apartment in the city of Flamebird, Arizona. What a terrible dream he's had, he can still hear the young woman's screams. Sooner or later, he will have to see someone about these dreams he's been having for the past year. After showering, he looks at the time and it's nearly 9am, time for classes to start at campus. He ponders leaving college altogether and finding courses online as he is not a morning person and also is an introvert with social-anxiety and would much rather be home than in a class full of people.

After taking the bus, George arrives at campus just in time for his first class. He is very fortunate to have his apartment in this side of the city where things are more expensive, plus he can afford his college fees because of the will his father left him and his older sister when he died years ago when George was just 8-years old. In class, George is paying close attention to the lecture while taking notes. He looks to his right and notices a very beautiful girl with blue eyes and dark hair with the lightest complexion and he starts to stare. He has seen many beautiful girls on campus but never paid much attention to them and they haven't really noticed him either, but this girl just seems so different, like there's way more to her than just her beauty. She looks up at George and he immediately looks away, tensing up and feeling nervous and light-headed.

When class ends, he walks to his other class feeling nervous, wondering if the dark-haired girl had caught him staring or not. As he walks, he overhears other students talking about something familiar. 'Yo man, they found her body this morning and could barely make out who she was' said one student. 'No way! Ain't that Louise from medical?' said the other student. 'Yeah, she went missing a week ago and only now they found her all bloody and chopped. The killer must've used an axe or something really sharp', said the first student. George was now looking their way, listening to them talk and didn't notice where he was going. He bumped into a girl and both of their sets of books fell. 'Sorry, I'm so sorry!' said George as he scrambled to pick up her books. 'It's okay, the start of a college year can make anyone nervous' said the girl, who picked up George's books. As George looked up, he saw it was the dark-haired, blue eyes girl from class.

He was frozen for a while and didn't know what to say or do. He was stuttering and breathing heavy, anxiety starting to take over. 'Can I have my last book, please' said the girl in a playful, sweet voice and George realized he had frozen when his hands were on the last book. He picked it up and before handing it to her, he saw the title, "How To Escape A Serial Killer". This caught his attention and had him heading to a train of thought. 'You can get up now, if you stay on your knees any longer, people might start to think you're proposing to me' she said playfully. George got up fast and was trying to speak but his words wouldn't come out. 'I... You... well, I...' he stuttered which made the girl smile and reach out her hand. 'I am Claire, what's your name? Try taking a breath' she said. He noticed she has a British accent and was even more intrigued by her, he reached his hand back out to hers and answered, 'George'. The girl smiled, 'Well, very pleased to meet you, George. I don't want to be late for class, I'll see you, yeah?' she said as she walked off with George just giving her a nervous smile, barely looking in her eyes the entire time.
