The Cognate Pillars were back in S.T.A.R. Labs. The crystal orb was siting on a podium in the center of the room. The others were trying to figure out their next step. Shazam flipped through his book on the Spectre and the orb, but found nothing on what they should do.

Batman was sitting down in one of the chairs. His cowl was off and he had his head down. He held his black gloves while explaining what happened to his wife. She could tell he was trying to stay strong while also blaming himself for what happened.

Batman: I couldn't save it, Selina. Our home is gone. There was nothing I could do. I failed. I couldn't be the hero Gotham needed.

Selina crouched down. She put her hand over her husband's clasped fingers. She rubbed her thumb over his knuckles and gave him a soft smile.

Selina: You already had saved Gotham, Y/N. You saved it in ways that count. Like you said, there was nothing you could have done. This is beyond even you.

Batman nodded. He looked up at his wife and tried to stay strong.

Batman: We're all that's left.

Selina: I know. And it's okay to feel hopeless. It's okay to not have a plan. For this moment, don't be the Batman.

The caped crusader nodded. He put his head down and allowed a tear to roll down his eye. His friends, his family. They were all gone. Selina wrapped her arms around his shoulders and pulled him close. The two allowed themselves a moment of mourning and silence.

Y/N watched his doppelganger mourn with a sorrow expression. The Flash turned his head and looked over at his wife. He thought of how much he loved her, of the life growing inside of her. Y/N gently exhaled and turned back to Captain Marvel.

Y/N: We need to find a way to open that thing before anymore worlds are lost.

Shazam: Right. The problem is that there are no clear instructions. I'm not sure what we're supposed to do. Why do these ancient texts always have to make things so cryptic?

Shazam continued to thumb through the pages of the book. Suddenly, a set of alarms went off. Cisco, Caitlin, and Y/N rushed over to the computer terminal to see what was going on. Cisco looked at the monitors. His eyes went wide with worry and panic.

Cisco: No. No, no, no, no, no. The barrier wall is breaking down. The antimatter is seeping through!

Y/N: It could destroy what's left of our world in seconds!

Outside, the orange and yellow barrier made by the Speed Force groaned and moaned. The stretched wall started to crack. Parts of it became intangible and started to fade. As it did, the antimatter wave began to creep forward. A red wave started to consume the air and road, taking everything into a black void of nothingness.

Caitlin: There's got to be some way we can fix it!

Cisco: Not unless we can find a way to get that magic orb working.

Y/N: Well, give us a better option! Captain, find something!

Shazam started to read through the entire book again, this time using his speed to quickly flip through it. The barrier outside groaned. A loud snap could be heard. The flood gates had opened. The red wave started its path forward.

Just then, inside the lab, there was a flash of white light. Everyone turned and saw the Monitor appear before them. He looked between all the Pillars. He noted the crystal orb beside them.

Monitor: The time has come. The Cognate Pillars and the Paragons must now meet.

Y/N: I'm not going anywhere with my world on the brink! I'm not leaving until we fix this!
