The afternoon sun hung low in the sky, casting a golden glow over the Han River as Jaeyi, Yeri, and Kyung strolled along the path that lined its banks.
It was a perfect day for a coffee and a walk, a simple escape from the hustle of their usual routines.
Jaeyi walked ahead slightly, hands tucked casually in her pockets, her usual carefree smile softened into something a little more serene.
It wasn't lost on Kyung and Yeri that Jaeyi had been acting a little different today.
Her usual energy was still there, but there was an almost... satisfied aura around her, like someone who had been living in a world of their own happiness.
"So," Yeri started, sipping her iced coffee, "what's with you today? You're, like, extra smiley or something."
Jaeyi merely smirked, her gaze drifting to the ground as she kicked a small pebble out of her way.
"What do you mean?" she asked, though the way her lips twitched gave her away.
Kyung, always the more perceptive one, narrowed her eyes, studying Jaeyi intently.
She slowed her pace until she stopped entirely, her head cocking slightly as she watched Jaeyi.
"Wait a minute..." She crossed her arms over her chest, eyes locking on Jaeyi with a mix of suspicion and curiosity.
Yeri, oblivious to the sudden shift in atmosphere, took another sip of her coffee and asked, "What? What's going on?"
But Kyung's attention was now fully on Jaeyi, and there was only one thing on her mind.
"Did you and Seulgi... sleep together last night?" she asked, her voice dropping into a teasing but knowing tone.
Jaeyi froze mid step, her gaze momentarily dropping to her coffee cup.
She didn't say anything at first, just sipped her drink as if the question hadn't phased her.
But the playful smirk tugging at her lips and the faint flush creeping up her neck told Kyung everything she needed to know.
Yeri's eyes widened in realization.
"Wait, seriously? You and Seulgi-?" She trailed off, her voice incredulous.
Kyung raised an eyebrow, still processing the information, and then cursed under her breath.
"I knew it..." Her voice softened as she shook her head. "God, Jaeyi, you don't waste any time, huh?"
Jaeyi glanced up, eyes glimmering with amusement.
"I don't know what you mean," she said nonchalantly, although the playful smirk on her face gave her away.
Yeri giggled, finding the situation surprisingly cute.
She glanced at Kyung, who was clearly flustered and trying to hide her shock.
"Well, I didn't know it was that serious," Yeri teased, nudging Kyung with her shoulder. "But look at you. So flustered."
Kyung huffed, running a hand through her hair, still processing the sudden turn of events.
"You're acting like this isn't a big deal," she muttered, still eyeing Jaeyi. "You didn't even tell us about this?"
Jaeyi shrugged, as if it was no big deal.
"There wasn't really a need to. It just happened. You know how it is."
She flashed them both a grin, obviously relishing in their reactions. "Plus, Seulgi's at my place right now. She's studying, so... yeah. All good."
