Cisca looked stunning in a deep emerald green dress, the color complementing the warmth of her eyes.
His mother's hand was warm on his arm, grounding him, but it did little to steady the emotions surging inside him.
The guests blurred together, a sea of familiar faces watching him with nothing but love and joy, but Lando could only see him.
Oscar stood at the altar, hands clasped in front of him, his lips slightly parted like he had just remembered how to breathe again.
With every step, the weight of what was happening settled deeper into Lando's chest.
By the time he reached the end, his eyes were already stinging with unshed tears.
Cisca kissed his cheek softly before stepping away, giving him to Oscar.
And Oscar reached for him immediately.
Their fingers brushed—a fleeting, stolen touch.
Neither of them let go.
The officiant smiled warmly, giving them both a moment to collect themselves before she spoke.
"Welcome, everyone," she began, her voice carrying over the hushed crowd. "We are gathered here today to celebrate the union of two people who have found not just love, but a true partnership. Lando and Oscar, your journey has been one of unwavering support, of laughter and understanding, of shared victories and challenges. Today, you stand before those who love you most, ready to make the ultimate commitment."
Lando's fingers twitched. Oscar noticed, barely hesitating before reaching out and grabbing his hand.
The touch was grounding, warm, real.
The officiant smiled at the gesture before continuing. "Marriage is not just a celebration—it is a promise. A promise to stand beside each other, through every twist and turn, every triumph and heartbreak. And today, you both make that promise, in front of the people who have walked beside you on this journey."
Lando inhaled sharply, his grip on Oscar's hand tightening.
It was happening.
It was really happening.
The officiant smiled warmly. "Oscar, would you like to begin?"
Oscar exhaled, nodding as he pulled out a folded piece of paper with slightly trembling hands.
For a moment, he didn't speak.
Then, he looked at Lando, and the words simply fell from his lips.
"Lando, I think I knew I loved you before I knew what love really was. It was in the little things—the way you laugh when you're overtired, the way you talk to your car like it's a person, the way you make every place feel like home just by being in it."
"I've never been the best at putting feelings into words, but with you, it's easy. Because loving you is the easiest thing I've ever done. And I promise that no matter where life takes us—no matter the wins, the losses, the moments in between—I'll be right there with you. Always."
Lando broke.
A choked sob slipped out before he could stop it, and Oscar laughed wetly, shaking his head like he was barely holding himself together too.
Then, it was Lando's turn.
He pulled out his own vows with shaky hands.
"Oscar, I have spent my entire life chasing something. Chasing speed, chasing perfection, chasing the next big thing. But somehow, without me even realizing it, I started chasing you."
