Oscar's voice softened. "Even then."
Lando swallowed hard, looking at the ring again.
Then, quietly—so quietly that he almost wasn't sure if he'd said it out loud—
"...Okay."
Oscar tilted his head. "Okay?"
Lando licked his lips, finally meeting Oscar's eyes.
And he smiled.
"Yeah," he said, voice steady now. "Okay."
Oscar let out a soft breath, the corner of his mouth twitching. "That's a yes?"
Lando laughed, picking up the ring and slipping it onto his finger.
"It's a hell yes."
Oscar rolled his eyes fondly, but when Lando launched himself across the coffee table and into his arms, he caught him without hesitation.
They stayed like that for a long time—Lando pressed against Oscar's chest, Oscar's arms locked around him, neither of them saying a word.
Just breathing.
Just existing.
Just them.
And it was perfect.
Lando hadn't moved for a solid five minutes.
Not because he was frozen—but because he didn't want to.
He was still sprawled against Oscar's chest, arms wrapped lazily around his waist, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. Oscar's fingers were tracing slow, absentminded patterns against his back, the kind of touch that wasn't meant to tease or distract—just to be.
Lando exhaled, shifting slightly. "So... we're really doing this."
Oscar hummed, tilting his head against the couch cushion. "Seems like it."
Lando pulled back enough to look at him, eyes flicking between Oscar's expression and the ring on his finger. "You're sure?"
Oscar raised an eyebrow. "Lando."
"What?"
"I literally bought the ring."
Lando huffed a laugh, lifting his hand to examine it again. It wasn't heavy, but it felt significant. Like it actually meant something.
He twisted it slightly, watching the silver catch the light. "It's really nice."
Oscar's lips twitched. "I was going to say it better be, considering how long I spent choosing it."
Lando's head snapped up. "How long?"
Oscar shrugged, looking far too casual. "A while."
Lando gasped. "You planned this?"
Oscar rolled his eyes. "You thought I just impulsively proposed?"
"I don't know! You're weird sometimes!"
Oscar smirked. "Says the guy who once bought a jet ski on a whim."
Lando pointed at him. "That was different."
Oscar gave him a flat look. "Was it?"
Lando squinted. "...Okay, maybe not."
Oscar just shook his head, amusement flickering across his face.
Lando watched him for a moment, then softened. "Seriously, though. You really thought about this?"
Oscar met his gaze, and something in his expression shifted—something steadier, something certain.
