So, he started paying attention.

To the little things Lando loved.

To the way he lit up when they were home together, when it was just them, away from cameras and races and pressure.

And most importantly—he noticed how Lando looked at him whenever their friends joked about the wedding.

At first, it had been exasperation.

Then, slow and careful curiosity.

And now?

Now, there was something soft in Lando's expression whenever the subject came up.

Like maybe—just maybe—he wanted it as much as Oscar did.

So, Oscar decided.

It happened on a Tuesday.

Not a special occasion. Not a big event. Just... a regular day.

They were back home after a long weekend of traveling, finally able to breathe again. Lando was sitting on the floor, playing FIFA on the TV, fully immersed in the game. Oscar was curled up on the couch, watching with mild interest, sipping from a cup of tea.

The moment was so casual, so normal, that it felt perfect.

Oscar took a deep breath.

And then—

"I got you something," he said.

Lando didn't look away from the screen. "If it's another weird Australian snack, I swear—"

Oscar rolled his eyes. "It's not food, idiot."

Lando paused the game, finally turning to look at him. "Then what is it?"

Oscar reached into his pocket, heart pounding a little harder than expected. He pulled out a small box, setting it on the coffee table between them.

Lando stared at it.

Then at Oscar.

Then back at the box.

"...Are you serious?"

Oscar nodded, watching him carefully. "Yeah."

Lando's brain short-circuited.

Because.

Because this was happening.

Not a joke. Not a hypothetical. Not Daniel making polls in the group chat.

This was real.

He reached out, fingers hovering over the box before he hesitated. "...Can I open it?"

Oscar huffed a laugh. "Obviously."

Lando swallowed, then slowly lifted the lid.

Inside was a simple, silver ring. Nothing flashy. Nothing over-the-top. Just perfect.

Lando stared at it for a long moment.

His chest felt too full. Like he couldn't fit everything he was feeling all at once.

Finally, he looked up. "You actually want to marry me?"

Oscar held his gaze. "Yeah."

Lando exhaled shakily. "Even though I steal your hoodies and kick you in my sleep?"

Oscar smirked. "Even then."

Lando's throat felt tight. "Even though I talk too much and get distracted all the time?"
