"Attention students! One last reminder to buy your tickets to tonight's Homecoming Dance. A magical evening full of wonder, excitement, and romance can be yours for only $10.99. However, this is not an opportunity to get freaky. Reminder: if you're not responsible, you'll end up with responsibility. So, there will be no twerking, yiking, getting crunk, lit or turnt. For all you ladies, dress appropriately. Nobody wants to see your lower butt cheeks. And last but not least: no ID, no entrance. No exceptions"

Kelly walked the halls with Jasmine as the announcement was made over the intercom.

"Man, that's some bullshit!" Jasmine exclaimed. "Did you hear that? Did you hear no butt cheeks? You know how many squats I do for these nalgas? Come on, people. No butt cheeks?"

Kelly just laughed at Jasmine and her being upset.

Shaking her head, Kelly slung an arm over Jasmine's shoulder. "Guess you'll have to save the booty reveal for another event."

Jasmine huffed dramatically. "Ugh, first, your brother ignores my availability, and now this? What is the world coming to?"

Kelly snorted. "Tragic, really."

Jasmine side-eyed her. "You're not even going, are you?"

Kelly shrugged. "Not really my thing."

Jasmine gasped. "Kelly! It's Homecoming. Where's your school spirit?"

"Probably where my desire to dance in a sweaty gym with a bunch of people I barely like is," Kelly teased.

Jasmine grabbed her arm dramatically. "Okay, no. I refuse to let you be a fun-hating gremlin. We are going."

"We?" Kelly raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, we," Jasmine said firmly. "And if you don't have a dress, don't worry, I got options. And if you don't have a date, also don't worry, I can set you up."

Kelly groaned. "That sounds even worse."

Jasmine grinned mischievously. "Oh, don't worry. I'll make sure he's your type."

Kelly narrowed her eyes. "My type is either Chris Brown or Ross Lynch. No in between"

Jasmine rolled her eyes. "Girl, be so for real. You think I got Chris Brown or Ross Lynch just waiting in the wings for you?"

Kelly smirked. "Then I guess I'm staying home."

Jasmine groaned. "Okay, okay, fine! Maybe I don't have them specifically, but I can find someone close enough."

Kelly gave her a skeptical look. "If you pull up with some dude who looks nothing like them, I'm leaving."

Jasmine put a hand over her heart. "I swear on my squats, I will do my best."

Kelly laughed. "That's not very reassuring."

"Listen, just say you'll go," Jasmine pleaded. "I already know you have nothing better to do, and if you don't go, I'll spend the whole night thinking about you being lame and alone in your house. Do you want that guilt on your conscience?"

Kelly sighed dramatically. "Fine. But if I hate it, I'm making you buy me food after."

Jasmine grinned. "Deal. Now, let's go find you a dress before I cry."

Kelly sat down at the lunch table, next to Olivia and across from Jamal. As soon as she sat down, she could feel the awkwardness and tension. She glanced at everyone, seeing them giving glances as well.
