The studio felt different after that.

Jennie told herself it was just in her head, that nothing had actually changed. But as she danced beside Lisa, she was hyperaware of every movement, every glance, every fleeting touch.

It wasn't like theyhadn't dance together a million times before. Their bodies knew how to move in sync. but today-- today felt different.

Lisa would step forward, and jennie would follow without thinking. Their arms would brush, and neither of them would move away. The rhythm pulled them closer, like gravity, like something inevitable.

Jennie's pulse hammered.

She was so close to giving herself away.

Then just as the song ended, Lisa reached for her-- casual like she was just catching her breath, like this was normal.

Her fingers brushed jennie's wrist.

It was the lightest touch. Barely there.

But Jennie felt it.

She felt it in her skin, in her spine, in the way her breath caught just for a secong too long.

And Lisa-- Lisa must have noticed.

Because she hesitated.

And for that on esuspended moment, Jennie thought--This is it.

This is the moment Lisa says something, does something, makes this whole thing real.

But instead, Lisa just pulled away like nothing had happened.

"Damn." She said, stretching her arms over her head. "I needed that."

Jennie exhaled, forcing her heartbeat to steady.

"Yeah," She murmured. "Me too."

Lisa grinned, tossing her a water bottle. "You always get so serious when you dance. Loosen up Nini."

Jennie caught the bottle easily, giving Lisa a look. "I am loose."

Lisa snorted. "that's the biggest lie you've ever told."

Jennie rolled her eyes, unscrewing the cup. "Shut up, Lalisa."

Lisa onlyt laughed, nudging her playfully. "Make me."

Jennie froze.

It was a joke. a teasing challenge. But Lisa was still standing too close, eyes bright, lips curved into something just a little too soft.

Jennie's fingers tightened around the water bottle.

She wanted to say something sharp, something that would break whatever this was before it spiraled further.

But then Lisa's hand brushed her lower back-- just barely, just for a second.

Jennie inhale sharply.

Lisa definitely noticed this time.

Her smile flickered, just for a split second, as if she realized she had pushed too far without meaning it.

She pulle back, rubbing the back of her neck. "Uh...Wanna grab food?"

jennie should have said no. She should have walked away, given herself the space she claimed she didn't need.

But instead, she said. "Yeah."

And when lisa grinned again, relief flashing in her eyes. Jennie knew she was in trouble.

Because this wasn't a game anymore.

They were teetering on the edge of something real.

And Jennie didn't know how much longer she could pretend she didn't want to fall.
