Season 2
Episode 7:
Long Into an Abyss
Normal POV
Abby showed up not long after Clarke had left. "Clarke said you sent her to talk to the grounders." Abby tells me. "I had to stay here and keep an eye on things. Clarke is more than capable of handling herself Abby. My people chose me for a reason, I'm making sure they have no reason to doubt me." I shrug at her. I was surprised Clarke had lied to her mother.
She nods turning to help Lincoln as I stand to the side and watch her work. When he starts seizing I gasp in shock watching. He falls still and I see the panic in my sisters eyes. Abby starts doing compressions before stopping. "Why are you stopping?" I ask her. "He's gone." She sighs. "No. No you're wrong." Octavia cries and I frown seeing my sister so heartbroken.
"Try again. Try again!" I snap at the woman. The hatch opens and Clarke climbs into followed by more grounders. I step back as Murphy and Nate shift in front of me. I see the black woman pull a sword. She turns on my brother and I pull out the sword I took from the grounder I had killed. Nate tries to stop me as Murphy just smirks.
I quickly move and block her from him, the swords clashing together. Electricity zaps behind me as I glare at the woman. "Get. Away. From my brother." I snarl at the woman. "Indra." The girl behind her calls. The woman glares at me but backs away, putting the sword away. I do the same, watching them carefully.
"Lincoln." I hear Octavia saying relieved. I eye the people as the girl turns talking to Clarke. "Goddess. Hey." Murphy says grabbing my hand. I look up at him and he chuckles. "You get even more amazing every damn day. When did you learn to handle a sword?" He asks me. "Keran showed me. We haven't gotten to really train, but he showed me how to hold it right." I explain and he nods. "Still.. it's hot." He grins and I smack his arm.
"Arty." Clarke calls and I look over at her. The girl next to her is staring at me, a curious glint in her eyes. I clench Murphy's hand tightly and walk over to them with him. "Artemis, this is the leader of the grounders." Clarke tells me. "You hold a sword, like you know how to fight. Do you?" The girl asks me. "Not yet. I have someone who told me they would teach me." I shrug at her.
"I would like to speak with you. Privately." She tells me. "Not without Murphy. Take any offense you want, but I don't trust you. The only ones I trust are Mira and Keran... and maybe Lincoln." I say and she eyes us but nods. "Fine." She says climbing down the ladder. Her people follow her and I let out a breath. "You've got this Goddess. Come on." Murphy whispers kissing my head.
He climbs down first and I follow him down. We follow the grounders, many of which constantly look back at us. "You've got this. You are so damn strong." Murphy whispers to me as we close in on a tent. I take a deep breath as we step into the tent behind her. The black woman, Indra, stands to her left as she sits. "So, you are Artemis. Clarke tells me you are their leader." She speaks and I nod.
"I am. Hope you're comfortable. We've got loads to talk about." I say and Indra glares at me. "Do not speak to her this way." Indra practically growls. "We're coming to you with a solution. I can easily take that solution and go elsewhere with it. We may be smaller in numbers, but don't doubt that I won't do EVERYTHING in my power to free my people from that mountain." I say glaring at the woman.
