Day 7.2

"Gosh, I'm so full!" CJ complained after sitting in the driver's seat.

Ang dami ko kasing natirang food kanina pero pinaubos ko sa kanya.

She was hesitant at first, but she didn't voice it out. It's just clearly written in her eyes.

Akala ko nga ay tatanggi siya because I'm aware of the strict diet of models like her, but she didn't.

"You could have refused naman kasi kanina. I'm just testing you, you know. We can ask them to pack it for takeout."

"But it was a dream come true, so I didn't."

"Huh?"

"I saw a video before. A couple ate at the restaurant, and the boyfriend was waiting for the girl to finish her meal because he knows that his girl will have leftovers."

"So you're telling me that your dream is to eat leftovers?" Hindi makapaniwalang tanong ko. What the heck was that?

"Your leftovers," she answered immediately, as if correcting me.

Napailing na lang ako. "You're really weird."

Narinig kong tumawa si CJ kaya tiningnan ko ito ulit. She's now resting her chin on her left hand, gazing at me.

"Where do you want to go after this?" Nakangiting tanong niya.

Sandali akong napa-isip. Hindi talaga ako nakapagpahinga kagabi kakaisip lalo na sa nangyari between me and my parents, so I want to take a breather.

"I want to go somewhere quiet and peaceful."

"Sure. Leave it to me." And she gave me a wink.

...

"You like it here?"

I opened my eyes when I heard CJ's voice beside me. Tumango ako.

The view of the ocean from here is truly calming, with the gentle waves stretching out to the horizon and the salty sea air carrying a cool, refreshing breeze.

This is what exactly what I needed.

Dinala ako ni CJ sa port area, and we rode a yacht. She told me that this is her Tita Tami's property, and she called her earlier to ask for permission na hiramin ito today.

"So this is our last day, huh?"

I looked at CJ, but she was staring straight out at the vast ocean in front of us.

Thank you for a whole week of patience," I said, turning my gaze to the same direction she was looking at. "You're really one of a kind.

"You are."

Ngumiti lang ako hanggang sa parehas kami natahimik.

It was really peaceful here with her.

I was quietly enjoying the view when I felt her gaze on me. I turned to look at her, and our eyes met.

"Hmm?" I hummed while raising my brows.

Ngumiti naman ito habang umiiling. "I just can't help but stare at your face. You're so beautiful, Loraine—especially when you smile like that."

"I've shown you all my flaws and embarrassing sides, but none of it seemed to faze you." I paused, studying her face. "And all this time, I've been wondering why."

CJ let out a soft chuckle before raising her hand. I watched her every movement as she reached for the few strands of hair that had fallen across my face and gently tucked them behind my ear.

Sandali kong napigil ang sariling hininga sa ginawa niya kaya lalo kong naramdaman ang pagbilis ng tibok ng puso ko.

Akala ko ay tapos na siya pero laking gulat ko nang dahan-dahan pa nitong inabot ang pisngi ko at marahan itong hinaplos habang muling nakatitig sa mga mata ko.
