CHRIS FOUND THE BRACELET ON THE COUCH AFTER EVERYONE HAD LEFT.
it was small, barely visible in the dim light, but the second his fingers brushed against it, something caught in his chest.
he turned it over in his palm, the cool metal pressing into his skin. the charm was worn smooth, the tiny engraved letters faint from years of use. he remembered this bracelet like it was part of her, how she used to spin it around her wrist when she was nervous, how it would clink against the edge of whatever drink she was holding, how she always played with it without even realizing.
it was hers.
it had always been hers.
chris's chest ached at the thought of her leaving it behind, like maybe she hadn't even noticed she'd lost it. like maybe it didn't mean as much to her as it did to him.
