ALORA

EACH fibre of mine burned inside of me. Igniting something so raw, I barley had time to think. The second the shadow of a man, grabbed Isabelle's neck I reacted quickly. His hands gripped her tight and unyielding, his wicked smile grew and everything inside of me screamed to wipe the smug smirk off his face.

Without thinking, I dug my nails into the mans back as he held Isabelle up against a wall, her gasps for air was enough to make me want to kill him. "Get off her!" I screamed, my hands pulling at his back an attempt to pull him off and eventually, by some fluke, I did.

Isabelle fell to the ground, holding her neck where the man was once holding, panting relentlessly.

Now he turned to me.

I stood still for a moment, trying to comprehend the scene and the enigma that was in front of me. Still, his face wasn't visible, just his piercing blue eyes underneath a black mask. I held my hands tight in a fist, my chest heaving with anger and every part of me was ready to attack, so I stepped back and then lunged straight for him. His prepared arms did the same, and he caught me In an unyielding grip before I reached him.

I choked as my eyes began to tear up, his hands were getting tighter and tighter around my throat. Isabelle was still regaining strength on the floor, but in the corner of my eye I could see the fury burning between her eyes, thought despite that she still was terrified. Too terrified to react. "Let." I swung my leg into his stomach. "Me" I choked, trying to scramble out of his hold. "Go." I screamed.

He dropped me.

And when I looked up, I saw why.

The whole street was lit up into flames, and the once dark fog was replaced with a blazing light, so bright both Isabelle and I had to squint our eyes to adjust. My hands were shaking by my side and when I turned my gaze to them, a ball of light was hovering over my palm.

Did I do this? I thought.

It's not possible.

The man was on the floor, his whole body uncontrollably shaking and his hand that was strangling me was completely burnt. "Alora... What did you do?" She breathed, her mouth agape. Her voice was low and full with terror.

"I-I didn't do anything." I shook my head, clenching my fists in hope of removing the ball of energy that was hovering above it.

"I saw it happen." Her words were slow. "You closed your eyes and whatever this was just came bursting out of your hands!" she shouted, sceptical and fuelled with panic.

I couldn't form the words to reply, my body was still altering from the energy that coursed through my veins. My head was dipped to the ground, the mess I made brought voices to my head that tried telling me to wrap my head around what just happened. But I couldn't, I shook my head, stepping back and staring at the body in front of me.

I should've felt bad, -I should've felt anything – but I didn't. He deserved what he got, However on the other hand, he probably had a family and no matter how cruel he was. His family didn't deserve to not have a son or a brother.

After a moment of thinking, I finally regained my strength to form a sentence. "Isabelle, we don't tell anyone about this." I gulped away the lump that began to form in my throat.

She scoffed, almost laughing at my comment. "Your joking? What just happened isn't okay!" She stressed, pacing up and down the pavement. "Alora you just killed someone." She whispered the last part, reminding me again of how serious this actually was. "Not only that, something just came out of you! We have to tell someone!" She stomped her foot down on the ground, her anger was building up and it seemed like she wasn't taking no for an answer.
