Day 6.1

"The Alcantara Family has been helping our charity for decades. Nakakatuwa nga na kahit busy sila ay nakakapaglaan pa rin ng oras para bumisita rito lalo na si CJ." Ms. Kara said.

CJ invited me to visit this place today-a charity to support elderly na sinu-support ng family niya.

Ms. Kara is the director of this charity at kanina pa kami nagku-kwentuhan dito sa cafeteria habang si CJ ay nagprisinta agad na tumulong sa kitchen. She said that she's turning fifty this year, but she looks younger for her age.

She's so excited earlier lalo na no'ng sinalubong kami ng mga elderly at mga staff. Everyone was close to her especially the elderly.

"And you know, Loraine? First time lang na magdala ng kasama si CJ dito. She usually visits here alone or with her mom when she's younger."

"Really?" Hindi ko pinahalata ang gulat ko.

"Loraine apo!"

Sabay kaming napatingin sa pintuan when Grandma Linda called my name.

She's holding a baby pink t-shirt and excitedly showed it to me.

Grandma Linda is the closest elderly to CJ and she mentioned it also kanina. That maybe the reason why she's so fond of me.

"Magsisimula na ang zumba natin. Halika na at isuot mo rin ito. Tamang-tama at may nakita pa akong bagong uniporme sa bodega."

Wait... zumba?

Grandma Linda held my hand kaya hindi na ako nakatanggi. Sinamahan niya ako sa comfort room para makapagbihis kaya mabilis akong nagpalit ng damit. Pinatalian niya rin ang buhok ko, so I tied it in ponytail.

Sobrang bilis ng mga pangyayari at nakita ko na lang ang sarili ko sa courtyard na nakapila.

The other members of the zumba class were so happy when they saw me and even Bea, the receptionist earlier and the zumba instructor today was surprised.

"At nahatak ka pa talaga ni Nanay Linda." Natatawang sabi niya. Natawa na lang din ako.

"Dito tayo, apo." Grandma Linda positioned us in front. "Oh, dito sa gitna ang apo natin ha. Ngayon lang siya makakasama sa ating mag-zumba kaya dito siya sa harap."

The other elderly cheered after Grandma Linda's announcement kaya medyo nakaramdam ako ng hiya.

They were all genuinely happy and excited about and it makes my heart flutter. To be loved by them feels so warm and overwhelming.

"Okay! Please position na po and we're going to start." Bea caught our attention kaya nag-ready na kaming lahat.

After naming mag-stretching ay nag-play na si Bea ng music. J.Lo's Dance Again is playing while everyone is cheering and clapping their hands. Parang daig pa nila ako sa dami ng energy.

"Apo, hindi pwede ang matamlay dito." Sita sa akin ni Grandma Linda.

Sandali akong napakurap until I finally realized why I am here. "Of course, grandma."

So I cheered louder.

Napalingon sa akin si Bea and she looks startled, but eventually laughed.

"Five... Six... Five, six, seven, go!"

Bea started dancing, following J.Lo's voice.

And then there's me... following the steps with serious dancing skills.

The zumba session was so intense that I ended up catching my breath after it finally ended.

It's been a while since I've been this active and it's surprisingly fun.
