The morning sun shone through the bedroom window as Lilun opened his eyes. Ye Yun was still asleep beside him, an arm wrapped around him. Lilun reached out, gently running his fingers down Ye Yun’s face. A small smile appeared on his lips.
Ye Yun’s eyes slowly fluttered open, and he smiled sleepily at Lilun. "Morning" he murmured before snuggling closer, resting his head against Lilun’s bare chest. He closed his eyes again.
"You’re not getting up?" Lilun asked, his hand sliding down Ye Yun’s back, caressing him.
"Mmm... just a little longer." Ye Yun mumbled, his voice drowsy. "I feel so tired."
Lilun chuckled. "You’re the one who didn’t let me go until dawn" he teased.
"Mmm..." Ye Yun hummed, already half asleep again.
Lilun frowned as he looked down at him. Usually, by the time he woke up, Ye Yun would have already left to handle his duties. He was always busy, always tired, but lately, it had gotten worse.
"Yun-ge, are you really okay?" Lilun asked, his voice filled with concern. "Maybe you should rest for a while and let Zhu Yan take care of things."
Ye Yun opened his eyes and looked at him. "You’re worried?" he asked with a soft smile. "I was more worried when you disappeared. I couldn’t rest at all." He pulled Lilun closer, his arms tightening around him. "And last night... you were so tempting. How could I leave you alone?" He smirked.
Lilun raised an eyebrow. "So, it’s my fault?" he asked.
"Yes." Ye Yun replied without hesitation.
Lilun smirked. "I think you’re just weak, getting so tired after one long night. How can you call yourself the Demon King?"
"Oh, You think I’m weak?" Ye Yun’s eyes glinted with mischief. "You weren’t saying that last night when you-"
"Okay, just get up." Lilun cut him off, trying to sit up, but Ye Yun tightened his grip, holding him in place.
"No, no." Ye Yun grinned as he hovered over Lilun. "My lover thinks I’m weak. I guess I have to prove him wrong."
"You- let go!" Lilun protested, pushing against him, but Ye Yun wasn’t letting him escape so easily.
Lilun narrowed his eyes, pushing against Ye Yun’s chest. "Stop playing around." he huffed. "You need to rest, not-"
Ye Yun suddenly leaned in, pressing a lingering kiss on Lilun’s lips. "Mm? What were you saying?" he teased, smirking as he pulled back just slightly.
Lilun’s breath hitched, but he quickly regained his composure. "I was saying..." He swiftly flipped them over, pinning Ye Yun beneath him. Ye Yun blinked in surprise as Lilun smirked down at him. "...that you should stay in bed and actually rest."
Ye Yun chuckled, his arms resting behind his head as he gazed up at Lilun. "Is that an order?"
Lilun leaned closer, their noses almost touching. "Yes."
Ye Yun sighed dramatically. "Fine, fine, I’ll rest. But only if you stay here with me."
Lilun rolled his eyes but didn’t move away. "Just for a little while." he muttered.
Satisfied, Ye Yun pulled him down into his embrace again, closing his eyes with a contented sigh. Lilun stayed still for a moment before finally relaxing against him.
The warm sunlight filled the room as the two lay together, their breaths slow and steady. For now, at least, there were no duties, no worries just the quiet comfort of each other’s presence.
