Now that the party is all together, the waiter brings out the aperitif and amuse-bouche.

There are only three plates set down on the table, and Yoko gulps as she looks up at Faye, realization written all over the other woman's face.

With a deep breath, she reaches out to grab the small, perfect looking bite, not paying any attention to Faye and feeling an electric spark when Faye's fingers brush against her own over the middle of the plate.

The spark that jolts her heart into an even faster gear.

The spark that rushes straight to her core.

She shifts herself in the seat and takes the whole bite into her mouth, eyes going wide with the flavors that attack her tongue and locking onto Faye's as hers do the same.

It's a moment. A breath. A second that stretches over them.

The shared experience.

Yoko is on fire with it.

Electricity flows through her veins throughout the next few courses.

Electricity that comes directly from Faye's eyes.

From the way Fate delicately forks her portion of their course into her mouth. How her lips hug the cutlery.

How there are small sounds of pleasure emanating from them both that tug at Yoko.

How after each and every bite there is a look of pure wonder on her face.

Yoko wants to kiss it. Feel it against her mouth and swallow it so it can burn from within her.

She is practically shaking with all of it. Shifting in her seat again and again. Her dress suddenly too constricting, not allowing her lungs to expand and breathe.

Everything about Faye is turning her on and they're not even touching.

The way her long fingers grips her wine glass, bring it up to her pouty lips. The way her long neck tips back when she sips or laughs at something Lux says. How her cheeks blush just a little bit anytime she catches Yoko looking at her.

How she looks back with intent.

How her jaw ticks and her eyes darken just enough for Yoko to understand it even if no one else at the table notices.

Nesa, Charlotte and Lux all catch on to their struggles soon enough though. Lux digs at Faye, elbows her in the ribs as her vowels slide with that teasing that comes from knowing someone so well.

Yoko had no idea that Faye had told anyone about them but she's not surprised. Charlotte had known from almost the beginning and Nesa was clued in and honestly, Yoko doesn't care. And Faye, Faye doesn't look shaken at all by the fact that Nesa and Charlotte are smirking in their direction.

Their secret affair is an odd burden to carry, sharing the weight seems only fair.

Lux drawls a long, asking Yoko odd questions in a roundabout way to better understand the person sleeping with her friend.

Nesa chimes in, of course, spilling horrifyingly embarrassing details no matter how much Yoko kicks her under the table or barks out her name. Her cackle mixes with Lux's and scares Yoko more than it should.

Nesa makes up for it though, turning the tables on Faye often enough.

Yoko gets a thrill out of watching her squirm and an even greater one when Faye matches Nesa toe to toe with the sass.

It's so fucking hot.

A giant of a man approaches their table with the fifth course and Lux smiles wide. He places the plates down without a word and scoops her up into a hug, kissing her head and not letting go.

Yoko, in her confusion, seeks out Faye for answers. Faye wears a soft smile, her foot nudges Yoko's under the table and she leans forward.

"The chef, Jet, is Lux's dad."

"Oh," Yoko says. The pieces of the puzzle of how the six of them ended up among the city's finest and wealthiest players come together. She feels less uncomfortable with their presence here now. Yoko had learned as soon as the other three sat down that this pop-up dinner was invitation only.

Lux pulls away from her father and introduces him to the table. He smiles and hugs Engfa as well. Yoko's eyes slide back to Faye. "Her uncle. Engfa is Lux's cousin."

Her foot is still next to Yoko's, nudging into hers.

Yoko wants so badly to run her foot up Faye's leg, but her strappy heels cannot be worked out of without hands and she is not about to draw attention to that struggle.

Engfa introduces Charlotte with one of her wide, soft smiles and Yoko swoons again at how she looks at her. It's no wonder Charlotte was crushing on her so hard. When Jet comes around the table with a smile, he pats Faye hard on the back. His giant hand staying on her shoulders while he holds his other out for Yoko and Nesa to shake.

"Welcome. I hope you're all enjoying the meal tonight."

"It's wonderful, Chef," Nesa says.

"Please, call me Jet. Anyone who can sit here with these three definitely deserves some extra love. Have they started teasing everyone relentlessly yet?" He chuckles.

"Only Yoko, Dad."

"This one?" He points at Yoko and winks at her. "Any particular reason?"

At this, Yoko pipes up to gain back some pride. "Oh, I beat them in court regularly and they can't handle it. They have to get their digs in while they can," she finishes with one of her perfectly fake smiles at Lux.

Jet booms with laughter, and Lux glares at her.

"I'd recount that tally, Lertprasert."

"Oh, I like her." He smiles at Lux. "Keep them on their toes, Yoko, These two need it."

He stops the teasing there and explains what this course is. His tattooed arms flexes and his black chef's jacket somehow looks too small to hold in all the life that resides in this man. The life that Yoko can taste with every bite of his perfectly crafted food.

He's a true artist and she feels lucky even sitting here.

He waits with a look of anticipation on his face while they try this next dish. It's divine. A piece of fish cooked so perfectly it melts as soon as it's in Yoko's mouth.

Faye's eyes close in bliss across from Yoko causing another riot inside of her.

She shifts in her seat again, her foot bumping Faye's leg and pulling her attention. There's a soft look in her eyes when she opens them and finds Yoko staring. Her foot inches up to Yoko's ankle and honestly, Yoko can't believe she's risking it.

But she will be damned I'd she asks her to stop.

Jet's smile is wide with happiness at the reaction his food creates and he bids them all farewell to disappear back to the kitchen.
