ahhhhhhhh,,,, im having aloootta thoughts in my head so imma go and splash it on the page,,,
you know how in some fanfics where kokichi is depicted warming up to saihara or some others in the cast? yes, it's nice to see that buuuuut i like the kokichi we got in the canon game.
cause it's pretty interesting seeing him garner more distrust in the cast, aswell as the others descend into madness.
fishy how their ages aren't ever specified, but I believe it's 16-18. their children so of course they're not gonna deal with it well.
the paranoia being killed any second... the paranoia of classmates who kill in warm or cold blood.... the paranoia of someone commiting it...
as kids, they obviously don't want to perish (i see you ryoma ;5) and want to continue on with their life and accomplish their dreams etc etc. that same ambition can be twisted into murder, which is the dreading part.
seeing a birdcage everyday would only deepen their resolve to escape right? that same resolve can become obscure to morality, or maybe even twist but still carry on with the incentive of "doing the right thing."
It just matters which result in path they take.
Co-operation, together working to be defiant against monokuma, ending the killing game.
Convinced that they're justified/desperate to slither to the edge of murder cause of their own desires.
Making a paradise lessening the desire to leave, as they already have essentials.
Rigging the killing game by casting the wrong blackened that was confirmed.
its so intriguing to see, whereas in other games they were more united towards the same goal, but V3's more different as everyone has something different in mind on how to end the killing game, then creating radical chaotic turmoil amongst the students.
this is more realistic, cause not everyone's a sheep following what one person says and keeps that as "their opinion". it's more of a pluralistic perception of what everyone thinks is for the best.
Kaede thought in order to go end the killing game, co-operation was necessary. that plan backfired and failed, cause she fell victim to the circumstances and committed it.
Kaito takes this on, becoming the group's shining light. He thought in addition to this, the classmates should believe in themselves aswell as their peers. However, this ultimately backfires on him in ch4.
Angie thought in order to go end the killing game, they should all surrender trying so hard to go outside and rather stay, not turning into their greed since they already have their essentials living a communal life within the school. This backfires when she steps into the middle room on the fourth floo-
Kokichi thought in order to go end the killing game , the group has to be more and more distrustful in eachother, honing vigilance. Since he realises Kaito is keeping everyone in tight - knit unity, he goes onto to antagonise himself gradually throughout the game, pivoting his master plan pretending to be the mastermind. This intricately made unsolvable murder case was ruined by Saihara, who after realising he isn't the mastermind and his motive didn't try help him do so and carried on solving anyways.
this disharmonious clash on how to end the killing game would spark some rivals such as kaito and kokichi, tenko and angie.
that's one of the reason i love drv3 so much, as it's got a unique set of characters who are all so,,, appealing and appetising.
it's realistic on how their all united on the same motive (which is ending the killing game, i see you kork), but have different perceptions on how to go and end the killing game meanwhile being manipulated by monokuma.
see the keyword? i hope you do => it's real.
as a certified robophobe, realism stands out to me alot, cause when you implement that into a character it makes them feel relatable therefore becoming more likable.
danganronpa v3 debatably has the best realism into the game despite being ultimate real fiction - the characters incentivise the reality.
imma take shuichis and kaedes relationship for example. and nuuhuhuh it's nothing like makoto and sayakas.
it feels more authentic, and although they only knew eachother for so short - they've managed to make chapter 1 the saddest chapter in the game besides chapter 5.
kaede is a likable strong protagonist with flaws that are realistic (overly idealistic to the point kokichi stopped her pushing everyone to the exit with him compassion.), and shuichi has those struggles too, having anxiety n confidence issues. these flawful characters are very eye - catching, as their imperfections, pet peeves make them feel human.
likewise, the juxtaposition with these two makes their dynamic way more interesting - instead of the protagonist having to be the one who's cheered up, the protagonist is the motivator. (i see you therapist makoto) im glad that dr strayed away from this kinda protagonist, since it could get stale quickly depending on what narrative they use for development.
that sunset scene with shuichi....omds that felt so real than compared to sayaka and makoto.. that was so heartwarming even if we're not shuichi.
it makes kaede's parting the way more brutal and heart-wrenching.

chapter 1's the best for that reason: the chapter was well - paced, and written :3
the whole reason why i written all this is to go ahead and show that even though that there are many fanfics giving the cast a happily ever after, it's warming to see - but the betrayal, deception, development and dynamics between the characters make the V3 we got worth it.
^^^ so ye i betcha you can tell what's my faaav gaaame :7
