Aiah Arceta
Mikha sat on the bed and patted the space beside her. I rolled my eyes, annoyed, but still, I sat down anyway. I felt her hand gently rest on my waist, and before I could say anything, she leaned in and kissed my temple.
"I'm sorry... maniwala ka sakin," she said softly, her voice full of sincerity. "Si Direk lang ang may gusto nun."
I wanted to stay mad. I really did. But the way her voice softened and how her hand tightened ever so slightly on my waist made my resolve waver.
"Do you really expect me to believe that?" I replied, a mix of frustration and doubt in my voice.
"Yes," she answered quickly, looking straight into my eyes. "You know I wouldn't do anything to hurt you intentionally, Aiah. Never."
I sighed and crossed my arms, leaning slightly away from her. "Then prove it," I challenged, my tone colder than I intended.
Mikha didn't flinch. Instead, she nodded, her hand never leaving my waist. "I will. I promise."
Mikha tightened her grip on my waist as if silently pleading for me to believe her. She shifted slightly, her face closer to mine, and for a moment, I felt the tension between us grow heavier.
"Aiah," she said softly, her voice almost a whisper. "I'm here now. Kahit ilang beses mo pa akong sungitan, I'll stay. Kahit magalit pa sila dun sa Paris. I don't care. All I care about is you."
I wanted to stay angry, pero naramdaman kong unti-unti nang nababasag yung pader ng inis ko. She was looking at me with so much sincerity that it was hard to ignore.
"Stop saying things like that," I muttered, trying to keep my voice firm. "You're just making it harder for me to stay mad at you."
A small smile tugged at her lips, and she gently tucked a stray strand of hair behind my ear. "Good," she said, her voice soft but teasing. "Kasi hindi ko kaya yung galit ka sakin."
I scoffed, but my cheeks betrayed me as I felt them warm under her gaze. "You're so unfair," I murmured.
"Maybe," she admitted with a playful shrug. "But I'll do anything to make you forgive me."
Before I could respond, she rested her forehead against mine, closing her eyes. For a moment, the world felt quiet. It was just the two of us, no trending issues, no outside noise-just Mikha and her silent promise to make things right.
Mikha pulled away slightly, her eyes searching mine. Then, with a soft smile, she said, "How about we make it up to each other? Let's go on a date-just the two of us. Dito sa Milan."
I blinked at her, caught off guard. "A date?" I repeated, trying to sound indifferent, but deep inside, my heart skipped a beat.
"Yes," she said, her tone more confident this time. "Yes.. let's go, Wala nang interruptions, wala nang Sophia, wala nang trending issues. Just you and me. What do you say?"
I crossed my arms, pretending to think about it. "Hmm, bakit parang pala desisyon ka? Hindi ba dapat pahirapan muna kita?"
She chuckled, reaching out to pinch my cheek lightly. "Kahit ano pang pagpapahirap ang gawin mo, as long as I get to spend time with you."
