Arisha's POV :

8 AM.

Way too early for my liking.

The campus was already buzzing with students, even though the semester had just started. And here I was, drowning in paperwork on the first day. Great.

As if that wasn't enough, I had to deal with her.

Miss Mayabang.

I rolled my eyes as I stacked the last set of documents on my desk. My gosh, if it weren't for Dad, I would never agree to this setup. But of course, life wasn't fair, and neither was my luck.

I had to suck it up.

I shook my head, checking my schedule. We had Music Fest practice later this afternoon, so I needed to finish everything early. The last thing I wanted was to be stressed while practicing.

The moment my last class ended, I grabbed my things and headed for the door. But before I could leave, a familiar voice called out.

"Hey, Ari! Lunch muna tayo. You haven't eaten breakfast yet," Stazia said, crossing her arms as she waited for my response.

I sighed, already expecting this.

"Uh, nuh. Marami pa akong gagawin sa office. Mauna na kayo," I replied, adjusting my bag on my shoulder.

Stazia gave me a disapproving look. "Arisha-"

"Promise, I'll eat later," I cut her off, flashing a small smile before walking away.

I was about to turn the corner when I felt it.

A stare.

Slowing my steps, I glanced to the side-and sure enough, Gwenora was watching me.

My brows furrowed.

She was Mikhazra's best friend and my classmate in Business Administration, major in Corporate Management. We barely talked, but right now, she looked like she had something to say.

Or was I just imagining things?

I held her gaze for a second, waiting to see if she would say anything. But when she didn't, I shook my head and kept walking.

I didn't have time for whatever that was.

Right now, I needed to get to the office and finish my tasks. Music Fest practice was waiting. And I needed to be ready.

The sun was already starting to set by the time I made my way to the music hall. The warm glow filtered through the glass windows, casting golden hues on the floor. Perfect timing-practice was about to start.

As soon as I stepped inside, my eyes immediately landed on Mikhazra, sitting on the couch, casually strumming his guitar. His brows were furrowed in concentration, his fingers effortlessly plucking the chords.

It was unfair, really.

Why did she have to look that good while doing something so simple?

I shook my head, pushing the thought away as I walked toward her.

"Late ka," she muttered, not even looking up.

I scoffed, placing my bag on the chair. "Excuse me? I had things to do."

She finally looked up, raising a brow. "Ano? Office work o pagpapaiwas sa lunch?"

I gasped, giving her a light shove. "Hoy! Kumain ako!"
