After Ao Yin’s appearance, Little Snake started following the Dragon King everywhere. Not that the Dragon King minded, he actually liked having his little one by his side.

As the Dragon King walked toward the study, Little Snake followed closely beside him.

"At this rate, why don’t you just tie our hands together?" the Dragon King said, looking amused. "That way, you won’t have to worry about me being swapped with a fake."

Little Snake suddenly stopped and looked at him for a moment."That’s a great idea." he said.

"Huh?" The Dragon King hadn’t expected him to take it seriously.

Little Snake started searching for something to tie them together. When he couldn’t find anything on himself, he began checking the Dragon King’s clothes.

"Don’t you have a rope or something?" he asked, patting here and there.

The Dragon King grabbed him by the waist and pulled him close. "Little one, calm down" he said, gently cupping his face. "Ao Yin is injured by the cloud light sword. She won’t be back anytime soon. Even if she does return, you’re smart enough to see through her tricks. So, there’s no need to worry."

"It's not that I'm worried I won't recognize her." Little Snake said, hugging the Dragon King. "I know I'm smart enough for that. But what if she pretends to be me and gets close to you?"

The Dragon King chuckled and kissed Little Snake’s nose. "It’s impossible for her to fool me." he said, holding him tighter. "I know your scent very well, and I don’t think anyone can copy your sarcasm."

Little Snake huffed, resting his chin against the Dragon King’s shoulder. "Still, I don’t like the idea of someone pretending to be me around you."

The Dragon King smirked. "Jealous?"

Little Snake clicked his tongue. "Of myself? That doesn’t even make sense."

The Dragon King chuckled and gave Little Snake a quick kiss on the lips. "You’re really cute, you know." he said. "Then let’s stay together."

They stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each other’s warmth. Eventually, the Dragon King tilted his head toward the study. “Shall we go?”

Little Snake sighed. "Okay"

The Dragon King smiled, keeping an arm around Little Snake as they continued walking. Little Snake didn’t pull away either.

"Your Highness" Ye Yun lifted his head from the book he was reading as the maid spoke. "Great Demon Lilun has returned."

Ye Yun's tired face lit up. "He's back?" he asked. "Where is he?"

"He went to your bedroom, saying he's tired." the maid replied.

"Alright." Ye Yun put the book aside and walked to his bedroom. He slowly opened the door and saw Lilun sleeping soundly in the middle of the bed sprawled out like a big baby, with his hair messily falling across the pillow.

Ye Yun stepped closer, a small smile forming on his lips as he looked at Lilun’s peaceful face. It had been a long time since he had seen him like this, relaxed, without his usual sharp gaze.

He sat carefully on the edge of the bed, not wanting to wake him. But just as he reached out to brush a strand of hair from Lilun’s face, Lilun’s eyes slowly opened.

"You’re back." Ye Yun said softly.

Lilun blinked a few times before a lazy smile appeared on his lips. "Mm… I was tired." he murmured, his voice hoarse from sleep.
