Little Snake and the Dragon King decided to delay their trip to the Snake Tribe for now. Since Ye Ruyan seemed suspicious, they chose to keep an eye on her first. Even though it was Little Snake’s idea, the Dragon King agreed.
To provoke Ye Ruyan, Little Snake started visiting the palace more often, but she remained quiet for now.
Resting his face on his hands, Little Snake watched as the Dragon King and the Demon King played Go.
"Little one, you insisted on coming to the palace. Why do you look so bored now?" the Dragon King asked, glancing at him.
"This palace is boring, and you two are boring." Little Snake huffed. 'That woman, Ye Ruyan, won’t even come out. What is she planning?' he thought.
"Go isn’t boring. It’s a game of strategy." Ye Yun said as he placed another stone on the board. Little Snake rolled his eyes.
They were sitting in a pavilion near the lake when they saw Lilun walking toward them. But as soon as he noticed Little Snake and the Dragon King, he turned around and walked toward Ye Yun’s resting room instead.
The Dragon King watched Lilun leave, then turned to Ye Yun, who was smiling as he looked in Lilun’s direction.
"Lilun is practically living in the palace now." the Dragon King said, resting his chin on his hand. Ye Yun looked at him. "Did you finally confess to him?"
"Confess what?" Ye Yun asked, suddenly very interested in the Go bowl.
"Don't play dumb. You know exactly what I'm talking about." the Dragon King smirked. "Your thousand years of love for him."
Ye Yun’s eyes widened, and he turned to Little Snake. "You told him? I told you not to run your mouth!"
"What?" Little Snake sat up straight. "I didn’t tell him. He eavesdropped at the door." He pointed a finger at the Dragon King.
The Dragon King scoffed. "Oh, Yun ga, do you take me for a fool? We've been friends since birth. Do you really think I wouldn’t notice when you’re in love? Especially with someone so close to us?"
Ye Yun sighed. "We’ve gotten closer than before." he admitted. "But he still doesn’t understand my feelings."
"Lilun is a demon. They don’t naturally understand emotions, they have to learn them." the Dragon King said. "And Lilun doesn’t like humans or study them, so it’s harder for him to understand feelings."
"But you’re in love with a demon too." Ye Yun pointed out, gesturing toward Little Snake, who was now stuffing his face with pastries. "And he seems to understand you just fine."
"Haa ner saai hae looo maa." Little Snake tried to say something, but it was impossible with his mouth full of food.
The Dragon King poured some water into a cup and handed it to him. "Little one lived among humans for a while." he explained. "He understands emotions well. But anyway, how close did you and Lilun get?"
Ye Yun hesitated for a moment before saying, "Close enough to know how many moles he has on his body."
Little Snake almost choked on his water. "You two had sex?" he blurted out, then quickly covered his mouth.
Ye Yun smiled sweetly. "It’s all thanks to you."
"Me?" Little Snake pointed at himself. "What does your sex life have to do with me?"
"It’s-" Ye Yun started, but before he could finish, the Dragon King kicked him under the table.
"He’s making things up." the Dragon King said quickly. "Here, have more pastries." He pushed a plate of them toward Little Snake, who was immediately distracted. Meanwhile, the Dragon King shot Ye Yun a look, silently telling him to keep quiet.
