No Dr. Rajesh, you shouldn't go there tomorrow, its a 1000 year tradition, please don't try to hurt the sentiments of the believers.
Rajesh - come on Dr. Andrew, we are highly educated doctors, we shouldn't be believing in mythologies and stuff and more over you don't believe in Hindu gods, so what exactly is bothering you ?
Andrew - I may be following Christianity, but the stories I've heard about that temple is limitless, some say that, this temple is older than the Himalayas and that it is the most powerful Shakthi beedam (energy house) for all tantrik practices. You are from the south, so didn't know the significance of this ancient temple. Us, people from Assam, very well know the importance of Maa Kamakhya temple.
Rajesh - ok doctor, you have convinced me.. I agree. This temple indeed is the most famous one among the northeast people. That still didn't explain me why I shouldn't go there tomorrow.. if Kamakhya temple is as powerful as you described, what's wrong in getting Dharshan ( blessings)
From this divine goddess ?
Andrew - Its not why, Dr. Its when. Every month for a few days, the goddess statue starts to bleed, it is believed that, on these days goddess Parvathy, who resides here in the form of Maa Kamakhya goes through menstruation. So men will not be allowed to enter the temple on these days.
Tomorrow happens to be one of the forbidden day for men.
Rajesh - you have a lot more information for a non-believer Dr.Andrew. thanks for your detailed explanation, but the knowledge I gained in all these years, makes it hard for me to believe that a goddess statue can produce blood by itself. Just wait until I prove you that someone is behind all this tricks.
Dr Rajesh could visibly see disappointment at Andrew's face. Andrew asked Rajesh to promise that he won't do anything stupid
Rajesh - ofc I won't dr., I promise.
Ofc I won't do anything stupid, I'm going to use my intelligent plan to prove you, that I was right, Dr. Rajesh thought to himself.
-----
Ever since Dr. Rajesh mentioned about going to Maa Kamakhya temple tomorrow, Dr. Andrew has been extra cautious about him..
"I must find a way a sneak out without any suspicion. I can't wait to prove everyone wrong about the bleeding idol "
', Dr. Rajesh was speaking to himself.
After squeezing his brain for nearly an hour, he came up with a plan. Rajesh asked Andrew, if he wants to join for a drink. Andrew instantly agreed, thinking it will help Rajesh deviate his mind from Kamakhya temple. But that's where Andrew went wrong.
They started drinking a bit early, by 9pm both of them passed out. Except Rajesh was only acting. He did not drink even a drop of alcohol. His plan worked. He knew, Andrew won't wake up until at least 11am, with this much alcohol in his body. This was his only chance to go to that temple. Sharp at 11.30 pm that night, he sneaked out of the house. Kamakhya is a 45 min drive, but since it was midnight, he reached there with 30 min. The outer gates were closed so he might have to jump over the gates.
Rajesh found some people sleeping on the other side of the gate, surprisingly there were no men. They were all women in saffron clothes. Still 2 of them were awake, so he had to wait another hour outside the gate. After making sure that everyone is in deep sleep, he jumped over the gates silently and slowly walked closer to the temple.
The surrounding was too dark for him to see anything so he used a lighter to find his way inside the goddess sanctum. He saw a small female statue bleeding and went closer for further inspection.
