Both Pure Vanilla and White Lily stepped forward, speaking in unison: "Now, farewell. We must part ways. Until we meet again, my friend."
The rest of the group stared in confusion.
Pure Vanilla Cookie smiled softly. "I knew... I knew you would remember, White Lily Cookie."
White Lily Cookie nodded. "Of course. We learned it in the academy."
"Woah! That's amazing! How did you know the answer?" GingerBrave asked, tilting his head in awe.
Reader Cookie giggled. "I'll explain, GingerBrave. The king in a golden crown is the sun, and the one with silvery eyes is the moon. The world turns dark when the sun and the moon align."
Wizard Cookie furrowed his brows in confusion. "But why are they saying goodbye to each other?"
Pure Vanilla Cookie's voice was gentle. "Because the darkness doesn't last for long, and the two continue down their own paths."
White Lily Cookie smiled wistfully. "They part ways with the promise of meeting again one day."
Strawberry Cookie sighed dreamily. "How beautiful... and sad."
Towerkeeper Cookie nodded in approval. "A brilliant answer, indeed. Were I a teacher, I would be honored to have such bright minds as my pupils. I hereby grant you permission to enter."
"Let's go!" GingerBrave cheered before noticing White Lily Cookie's expression. "Hm? White Lily Cookie, what's wrong?" GingerBrave asked, tilting his head.
Pure Vanilla Cookie stepped forward, his voice filled with quiet resolve. "White Lily... this is where we part ways as well, right?"
Strawberry Cookie: Huh?! Why...?!
White Lily Cookie: Two things have been on my mind since the Faerie Kingdom. First, the secret to the Beast-binding Ritual. The second, the Guardian's power. Or better said, the Witches who granted such a power. I have inherited it from Elder Faerie Cookie. It is only right for me to learn everything about the source of this strength.
Wizard Cookie: Can't we solve that mystery AFTER we've completed our mission here?!
White Lily Cookie: Initially, I thought so too. Until I was presented with that riddle. I realized that Pure Vanilla Cookie and I... our paths do not align.
Pure Vanilla Cookie: I cannot deny I wish you'd stay. You walk your own path, White Lily Cookie.
White Lily Cookie: To defeat the Beasts... And Dark Enchantress Cookie.
Pure Vanilla Cookie: ... Yes.
Wizard Cookie: But we could help you, White Lily Cookie! Some of us can go with you!
White Lily Cookie: Pure Vanilla Cookie will need your aid.
GingerBrave: White Lily Cookie, are you sure?
White Lily Cookie: Don't worry about me. Please, take care of Pure Vanilla Cookie. In this place, your bravery and loyalty will become his best defense. And Reader Cookie, please be careful around Shadow Milk Cookie. I don't want you to get hurt...
Reader Cookie: I will. I won't be easy to fool.
GingerBrave: Yes! We will! I promise you!
Pure Vanilla Cookie: White Lily Cookie! Send word if you ever need help!
White Lily Cookie: Alright! Good luck, Pure Vanilla Cookie.
Pure Vanilla Cookie: Thank you! My Light of Truth will illuminate our path so we don't lose our way. Once we have found what we seek, we will hold council back in Crispia. I will be awaiting the moment we meet again... Farewell, my friend...
White Lily Cookie: Stay safe, good Cookies...!
Strawberry Cookie: Will White Lily Cookie be alright...?
Pure Vanilla Cookie: Of course, she will. I trust in her strength.
Apple Faerie Cookie: How delightful! Follow my lead, Pure Vanilla Cookie! Let's step inside!
With the riddle solved, the doors of the Spire creaked open, revealing endless halls of knowledge. The group entered, awe-struck by the sheer number of books that surrounded them.
Excitedly, Wizard Cookie pulled a book from a nearby shelf and read aloud. "What?! This book claims that the Cookie world is flat!"
GingerBrave blinked. "Wait... isn't it?"
Wizard Cookie nearly dropped the book. "GingerBrave, NO! That's ridiculous!"
"Oh... ah," GingerBrave mumbled, quickly realizing his mistake.
Reader Cookie, meanwhile, watched their friends struggle with various absurd texts, quietly laughing to themselves. They smirked and finally said, "Well, if nothing else, this proves one thing—you really shouldn't believe everything you read."
The Spire was a place of immense knowledge, but also of misleading truths. It seemed their trials were far from over.

Meanwhile, from the shadows above, unseen by the group, a pair of gleaming, deceitful eyes observed their every move. Shadow Milk Cookie watched as they bickered and laughed over the books, amused by their innocence. The thief, the Lightbearer—they would all make for wonderful puppets in his game. But the one who intrigued him most was the Reader Cookie. He tilted his head, smirking as his voice slithered through the void. "Oh, how amusing. Such a delightful little group... I simply must meet you personally. The rest? Well... they shall dance on my strings."
A low, echoing laugh rumbled through the darkness, vanishing just as quickly as it had come.
