THE NIGHT WAS QUIET, save for the distant hum of passing cars and the occasional rustling of tree branches in the breeze. the air had a crisp edge to it, the kind that hinted at the approaching shift of seasons, not quite cold, but enough to make chris rub his hands together for warmth. he hadn't planned on being out here, standing against the side of zayn's garage, staring up at a sky that wasn't giving him any answers.
