Will
I sit into the waiting room of the nicu holding Nico.
He's been silent since we left the room.
Conner is pacing back and forth, and I watch him quietly as Nico stares at the floor.
The image of the nurse doing chest compressions on Bia engraved into my brain, I can't imagine what's going through Nico and Conners.
"Will you can't go in there at all?" Conner asks, and I sigh.
"As I've said, I wasn't even supposed to be in there at all. The minute it became... that serious I had to leave. She's technically family. My emotions were too much involved, " I explain, and Conner sighs.
"What about my baby?" He asks, and as he said that, a nicu nurse walks out smiling.
"He's perfectly healthy." She assures, and Conner sighs in relief.
"Can I see him?" Conner asks, and she nods, and he looks to us.
"If you hear anything, come get me... but she'd want me to stay with our baby." He whispers, and I nod, and he heads in there.
"Nico?" I ask quietly, and he just blinks.
"They're doing everything they can to save her. I can't make promises, but... she... she has a chance..." I whisper, and a tear runs down his face.
"I can't do this, Will... if she doesn't... if she doesn't make it." He whispers, and suddenly a sob rips through his throat, and I tighten my hold on him.
"I don't know, Neeks... but I'll be right here for you..." I whisper.
Hades runs in looking panicked, and he sees us.
"Have you heard anything?" He asks, and I shake my head, and he runs a hand through his hair and turns to Nico.
"Mio Soldantino." He says, and Nico runs into his arms and starts sobbing, causing my heart to shatter.
If she dies... I'm killing Nicole.
That's malpractice! She's been here longer than me!
Ooo, I'm so mad.
The OB walks around the corner, snapping me out of my thoughts, and I stand up, and Nico and Hades turn around.
"How is she?" I ask, and she pauses, looking at Nico and Hades.
"Where's the babies father?" She asks, and Conner happened to walk out, and his eyes snap to her.
She takes a deep breath and sighs her eyes, burning with tears.
"I'm sorry... we dis everything we could...she's gone." She says, looking heart broken, and I froze and turn to Nico.
Nico stood frozen, no response, Hades looked up at the ceiling.
