Chapter 2 solo quest

They got back to the town where the old lady was waiting. "Thank so much for bringing these fellows back to me. I truly appreciate. Please let me give you something more to say thanks". The old lady says.
"Not at all ma'am. We were just helping out someone in need. No need to do anything else. We are just happy these guys are back where they belong". Erza responds back. "We should be on our way back to our guild anyway".
The others smile and bow and take their leave, heading back to the Fairytail guild.

-time skip- back at the guild-

"Phew I'm exhausted ". Lucy says. "I definitely need a long nap". She and the rest walk in through the doors of the Fairytail guild.

"Welcome back everyone! Good job on your quest". Mirajane a girl with white hair a cute face says greeting them as they come in. "Thanks Mira". Erza replies. "Where's master? I need to speak with him". Erza asks. "Oh he's"- Mira gets cut off.

"NATSU, GRAY!" A loud voice echoes through the guild hall.
*gulp* Natsu and Gray gulp. "Masters mad it seems". Gray says. "Hey Gramps, listen here. While we were out on the mission Gray"- *SMACK* "Like hell your about to blame this on me Natsu!" gray says angrily.
Just then a big hand grabs them. "I got the report of your mission and the two of you COVERED THE WHOLE TOWN IN FIRE THEN ICE!!! Now they are working to get all the ice chipped away and their burned houses fixed!" The master says swinging the both of them around in the air.

"It's-*bwghhh* G-Grays fault". Natsu says about to throw up due to his motion sickness. "He's the one *Bwghhh* who started the fight in the first place". Natsu slowly starts to deflate. "Like hell! You were goofing off again and it was pissing me off!" Gray barks back. But before he could say anything else, they both get thrown into the air, never to be seen again (well until the next paragraph or so).

"Master". Erza interrupts the angry steaming out of the nose master. "I need to speak with you. It's something of concern". Erza insist. Master turns to her and says "Then speak child". Erza nods. "During the mission I kept sensing that someone was watching us. But when we split up for a bit it stopped. I don't know what it was about but as long as I wasn't with one of the others, the watching would cease".

The master puts his chin on his hand. "Hmm, that does sound rather odd. Keep watch on that when your with the others. Tell them to be aware and we'll just see if this continues". The master says. Erza nods and walks away.

-Meanwhile-

Lucy is walking towards her apartment. "Oh Natsu. Always getting himself into trouble. Well it is his fault for always goofing off and starting fights with Gray". Lucy talks to herself while balancing on some stones next to the river.

"Careful blondie, or else you're gonna fall in!" Some guys in a canoe says as they pass her by. "I've never fallen in before!" Lucy says as she trips and almost falls in.
She stops walking and says. "Maybe I should go on a mission by myself for once. As much as I love going with the gang, I kind of want to try doing a solo mission. It'll be a nice change for once. And besides I won't have to deal with those two idiots. Yes! Let's do it! Tomorrow I'll go on a solo mission!" Lucy says enthusiastically.

-The next day-

"Hey Mira!" Lucy smiles. "Good morning Lucy! What can I do for you?" Mira smiles back and asks.
I was wondering if you have any semi easy solo quests. As much as I love being with the guys, I just need a change of pace for once". Lucy says.

"I get it. I might have just the perfect quest for you". Mira says happily. "It's a quest asking for a Celestial wizard. It doesn't really say much but that a celestial wizard is required to help defeat some celestial type beast". 
"That sounds perfect. And the reward will help cover my rent for the next 6months!  It must be something big! Thanks Mira. I'm off to do it now!" Lucy smiles at Mira waving her hand as she runs out the door.

"She seems so happy". Mira laughs.

Just as she says that Natsu comes up along with happy. "Hey Mira, have you seen Lucy? There's a job that I want to go on with her". He says looking around.

"Oh you just missed her. She's actually going on a solo mission today".

"Huh". Natsu tilts his head.

"She's going on a solo mission". Mira smiles.

A few seconds go by until natsu bursts out.

"WHAAAAAAAT?!?! She didn't say anything about having a mission already picked out for us. C'mon Happy, let's go catch up to her!" Natsu says about to run after her before he gets yanked from behind.

"Natsu did you hear anything Mira just said?" Erza says still holding onto Natsu. "We have been doing a lot of missions as a team. Honestly I don't really remember a time where Lucy had been on a mission that was just her. Someone, especially you, has always been with her. I think she deserves a solo mission". Erza says. 'Though I didn't get the chance to tell her about what I talked to master about'. Erza thinks in her head.

"I guess you're right, but doesn't mean I like it. . Besides It still think she would have had fun on this quest I have". Natsu says before going over to a bench and laying down groaning.

-time skip-

-Lucy pov-

I made it to the town where the quest was from and now was heading to the address that was on the flyer. It felt weird not having a bunch of noise and chaos the whole train ride here but in a way I liked it. It was nice to have peace and quiet every once in awhile.

As I made my way to the building that was on the flyer I realized that the town was very lovely and peaceful. There was townsfolk buying things at stalls and kids playing with one another. They all seemed happy.
But for some odd reason I felt as though I was being followed and watched ever since I got off the train. But every time I looked around nothing seemed off. So I thought it was my imagination.

Once I got to the building and went in a maid showed me to a room to wait for the person that was in charge. I was offered some tea while I waited. It wasn't long though until a man walked in and sat on the other chair across from me.

"Hello miss, my name is Hundert and I'm the one who sent out that request". He smiled.

"Nice to meet you Mr.Hundert. I'm Lucy Heartfilia". I smiled back.

"Lucy...". He mumbled. "It's very nice to meet you". I'm very happy you took my request. I know it doesn't say much on the flyer so no one has taken it. And the fact that there aren't many celestial wizards out there which also makes it difficult. So thank you I'm truly thankful".

"It's no problem at all!" I say. "Would you mind telling me more about this quest?"

"Of course. You see, where I come from there is a lot of celestial like magic along with plants that grow and are nourished from celestial magic. My family has this sacred tree that can withstand any and all magic. But a few years ago hell like beast attacked and almost destroyed it. You see, there is only one kind of monster that can destroy this tree. Beasts from hell".

I couldn't wrap my head around this. It all sounded like a made up story than something that could actually have happened but the look in this guys face seemed genuine.

"I know this all sounds bizarre but it's true. In fact let me show you". He said standing up.

"The tree is here?!?" I asked surprised.

"Yes, when my great-great-great-great grandfather left his country he settled here in this town and planted a seed hoping it would grow. As my family have some celestial like magic it's not like pure blood celestial wizards like yourself".

"Oh." Was all I said before following him outside and to the start of a mountain for this town was surrounded by.
We walked into a man made like cave which went very deep in. But as we kept walking it kept getting lighter instead of darker. Until eventually stood before me a crystal like glowing tree.
Then, everything became engulfed in a bright light.
