"Little one, stop playing with poison" the Dragon King said, trying to stop Little Snake from mixing his venom with different medicines and plant extracts.
"I'm not playing" Little Snake replied, stirring the mixture with a spoon. "I'm testing what makes it stronger and what weakens it. Thanks to you, I can't use poison freely anymore."
The Dragon King sighed and hugged Little Snake from behind, wrapping his arms around his waist and resting his chin on his shoulder. "What if you hurt yourself doing this?"
"I told you, I'm not playing" Little Snake said. "And I'm not foolish enough to poison myself with my own venom. But if you keep clinging to me like this, I might just mess up. So let go."
"Fine" the Dragon King said sadly. "You can be touchy whenever you want, but I can't" He muttered under his breath.
"What did you say?" Little Snake asked, glancing back.
"Nothing" the Dragon King replied, sitting down on a nearby chair, sulking. After a moment of silence, his expression changed. "Someone's coming."
Little Snake also looked toward the entrance. "Mo Yun, go check who it is" he called out.
"Understood, Your Highness" came the distant response.
Mo Yun returned, leading a girl toward them. She wore a flowing red dress with golden phoenix patterns. Her long black hair was decorated with a golden phoenix crown that sparkled in the light. Her fair skin stood out against the deep red gown, and her dark eyes were calm but deep. Golden chains and ornaments hung from her shoulders, moving gently as she walked. She was not only beautiful but had a strong and unforgettable presence.
