Chapter 6

Episode 3:
Earth Kills

The next morning I was helping make weapons. I see Murphy walking over and smile up at him. "Did he give you hell?" I ask and he chuckles. "Surprisingly no. Which was weird. Apparently he found Atom and Octavia doing the same thing. He tied Atom to a tree all night." He explains to me and I make a face. "That is weird. But oh well. Now you can kiss me and not worry too much about him." I grin and he laughs. "That is true." He says leaning to kiss me.

"You are a dangerous tease." He mutters as I stare up at him. "I have no clue what you're talking about." I grin and he chuckles. "Bellamy is staring at us funny. You better go." I grin at him. "Fine. I guess I will." He mumbles. I head inside to check on Jasper and the others, seeing Nate leaning on the wall near his head. "Hey. How's he doing?" I ask softly. "He's been groaning all night. Clarke thinks the skin is infected." He tells me.

I shift the bandage and sigh. "She's not wrong. If it gets any worse she's going to need to cut it off. I know it sounds bad, but it will save his life." I explain and he frowns. "So, you and Murphy?" He asks after a minute. I blush and he chuckles. "Saw you two before you came in here. Surprisingly, you two look good together." He tells me nudging me and I smile.

"He's just so... different with me. He's a complete asshole with anyone else. But then he's with me... and he's not." I say softly and he smiles. "I support you and Murphy. Just... don't ditch your first best friend." He tells me and I laugh. "How could I ever do that? Me and you have gotten up to so much shit." I nudge him. "Exactly. Get out of here. Go do some work." He chuckles and I get up heading to the ladder. "I'll bring you some food in a bit." I say as I climb down. 

As I get outside I see Octavia angrily stomping over to Bellamy and Murphy. "What did you do to Atom?" She says and I pause, not joining them. Bellamy waves Murphy away so he walks over to me. "I take it she finally noticed Atom was ignoring her." I comment and Murphy chuckles. "I've also been tormenting him about the tree." He shrugs with a grin.

"You are so mean." I laugh smacking his chest. "If Atom had to pay the price, why didn't Murphy? Huh?" I hear and snort slightly. "Goddess be quiet." He nudges me. "Why am I suffering and Artemis isn't?" She asks and I glance over seeing Bellamy glancing between me and Octavia. 

"I feel like I should run. So I don't get dragged into this." I say softly and Murphy chuckles at me. "Murphy wasn't given any rules when I left. Just to keep people building the walls. I told Atom to make sure no one touched you. And if anyone did, they'd answer to me." Bellamy says sternly.

I frown slightly at his words. "So ruining my life is okay? But not your other sisters?" Octavia snaps at him. A scream is heard from the dropship, and I realize it's Jasper. Octavia runs to the dropship looking worried. Bellamy turns, pausing as his eyes meet mine. I hope he can see the hurt and sadness that he caused.

He walks to the dropship himself as I turn back to Murphy. "So he's worried about people messing with her. But not me... brother of the year." I mumble softly. "I'll protect you. Fuck that guy." Murphy says and my lip twitches in amusement. "I saw that." He says and I laugh now.
