𝟎𝟐- 𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐞

"I need to see your badge, sir. I need to see a badge." A security guard insisted as Madelyn and Owen stormed into the control room.

"What happened out there?" Owen demanded.

"Sir." The security guard tried again.

"There are thermal cameras all over that paddock! She did not just disappear!" He yelled.

"It must have been some kind of technical malfunction." Claire sighed.

"Were you not watching?" Owen said angrily. "She marked up that wall as a distraction. She wanted us to think she escaped!"

"Hold on. We are talking about an animal here."

"A highly intelligent animal."

"Four hundred metres to the beacon." Vivian announced. The big tv's all over the walls show men approaching the jungle with stun devices.

"You're going after her with non-lethal?"

"We have twenty six million dollars invented in that asset. We can't just kill it." Masrani argued.

"They're gonna die." Madelyn mumbled.

"Those men are gonna die!"

"Three hundred letters to the beacon."

"You need to call off this mission right now."

"They're right on top of it."

"Call it off right now." Owen demanded.

"You are not in control here!" Claire snapped.

"Bloods not clotted yet. It's close." One of the men reported to the control room. He was holding a slab of skin and muscle.

"What is that?" Masrani asked.

"That's her tracking implant. She clawed it out." Madelyn said, voice trembling.

"How would it know how to do that?" Claire asked.

"She remembered where they put it in." Owen stated. The camera projecting onto the tv looks up.

"It can camouflage!" The commander tells. All the men try to run away. The people in the control room watch as the dinosaur tears the men apart. There was a horrified silence.

"Evacuate the island." Owen demanded.

"We'd never reopen." Claire said sadly.

"That's the least of our problems!" Madelyn cried out.

"You made a genetic hybrid, raised it in captivity. She is seeing all of this for the first time. She doe not even know what she is. She will kill everything that moves." Owen explained.

"Do you think the animal is contemplating its own existence?" Masrani asked.

"She is learning where she fits in the food chain, and I'm not sure you want her to figure that out. Now, asset containment can use live ammunition in an emergency situation. You have a an M134 in your armoury Put it on a chopper and smoke this thing!"

"We have families here. I'm not gonna turn this place into some kind of a war zone.!"

"You already have!" Madelyn yelled.

"Mr. Grady, if you're not gonna help, there's no reason for you to be in here." Claire sighed.

Owen walked over to Mr. Masrani. "I would have a word with your people in the lab. That thing out there, that's no dinosaur." He whispered. He stormed out of the room. Maddie followed after.
