Ariana barely had time to react before she was yanked into the girls’ restroom. The door slammed shut behind her, the sound echoing in the empty space like a final warning.

She stumbled forward, catching herself against the sink, her heart pounding in her chest.

Hannah stood in front of her, arms crossed, a smirk twisting her lips. Her friends flanked her like a pack of wolves, their eyes gleaming with cruel amusement.

"You really don’t know your place, do you?"

Hannah sneered.

Ariana kept her gaze down, muscles tense.

One of the girls scoffed.

"First, you play mute like some helpless little victim, and now you’re whoring yourself out to Kendric Hastings?"

Ariana stiffened.

"We saw you talking to him yesterday."

Hannah said, her voice dripping with venom.

"What, batting your lashes at him? Acting all innocent?"

Ariana’s stomach twisted.

Hannah let out a cold laugh.

"What, your real family didn’t want you, so now you think you planned to make place for yourself in Hastings?"

Ariana’s fingers curled into fists.

"It’s honestly disgusting."

Another girl scoffed.

"The moment you stepped into this school, you started whoring yourself out, didn’t you?"

Ariana’s breath hitched.

"You think just because he talked to you, you have a chance?"

Another girl sneered.

Ariana didn’t move. She knew what was coming.

A sharp slap cracked across her face.

Her head snapped to the side, the sting blooming across her cheek.

"You must be real good at playing the weak, broken girl."

One of the girls taunted.

Another slap.

Ariana swayed slightly but forced herself to remain still.

Silent.

"Not even gonna fight back?"

She mocked.

"Guess that’s all you’re good for, standing there and taking it."

Hannah’s smirk widened before she suddenly grabbed Ariana by the collar and slammed her back against the wall.

Pain jolted through her spine.

"How did Kendric even fall for a mute freak like you?"

Someone sneered.

"She probably threw herself at him."

Another laughed.

"Or maybe she just looked pathetic enough for him to pity her."

Ariana’s stomach twisted violently.

Another fist crashed into her stomach.

Her body folded inward, breath vanishing from her lungs.

Before she could recover, another punch landed against her ribs.

Pain exploded through her side.

Her knees buckled, but someone yanked her back up by her hair.
