"Why do you want to cook? Just ask the maids to bring food here" the Dragon King said, watching Little Snake and Mo Yun head to the kitchen.

"We're just making dumpling soup" Little Snake replied. "Mo Yun is really good at it."

The Dragon King sighed. "Fine, whatever. I’ll help too."

"No way" Little Snake said quickly. "Please stay out of the kitchen"

"Hey" the Dragon King protested. "What do you mean by that?"

"My prince means you should rest, Dragon King" Mo Yun said. Little Snake nodded in agreement.

The Dragon King huffed and looked away, like a child left out of a game.

As Little Snake and Mo Yun went to the kitchen, the Dragon King sat in the garden pavilion, sipping tea.

"Why don't they want me in the kitchen?" the Dragon King muttered. "Am I really that bad at cooking?"

Just then, a voice called out, "Finally, someone told you how terrible you are at cooking"

The Dragon King turned and saw Lilun. His face darkened, and his mood soured instantly. With a huff, he looked away, clearly annoyed.

Lilun sat down and glanced around. "Where’s your pet?" he asked.

"Stop calling him that" the Dragon King snapped, shooting him a glare. "He has a name"

Lilun smirked but didn’t argue. Silence settled between them.

"You treasure him so much" Lilun said after a moment. "I don’t get it. What’s so special about him that makes you so crazy about him?"

"It's none of your business" the Dragon King said.

Lilun’s expression darkened. "I wonder… if one day he makes a mistake like I did, will you treat him the same way? Or will you abandon him like you abandoned your best friend?"

Before the Dragon King could reply, a cheerful voice interrupted.

"Old Dragon, do you wanna come help?" Little Snake called out as he ran toward the pavilion. "We need help wrapping-" He suddenly stopped in his tracks when he saw Lilun.

Both the Dragon King and Lilun turned to look at him. Without hesitation, Little Snake ran straight to the Dragon King's side, glaring at Lilun.

"I see you're not hiding your scent anymore" Lilun said with a smirk.

"Of course not" Little Snake shot back, smirking too. "Old Dragon loves my scent, so why would I hide it?"

Lilun’s face darkened. "Whatever" he muttered.

Little Snake leaned closer to the Dragon King, his eyes still on Lilun. "What are you doing here?" he asked. "I doubt anything here is to your liking"

The Dragon King glanced at Little Snake, a bit surprised by his boldness.
