The three women hold the line while the people behind them evacuate. Almost as if sensing the ferries land, a wave of Grimm started to make their way to the large gathering of scared people. A line of robots is currently between the Grimm and civilians, but based on the abundance of destroyed robot parts, they won't last very long when they get too close. As if that wasn't enough, opposite the Grimm, a dozen white fang members are heading towards the crowd too, seemingly wanting to stop the evacuation here as well.
"Blake, Weiss, you two go make sure the Grimm don't breach the robots. I'll take care of the White Fang."
"By yourself?"
"I've dealt with worse. Just keep the Grimm away." Samus says as she takes off running, activating her Speed Booster, running straight at the closest one.
Slamming into him, he is sent flying back as something flickers around him, his aura, most likely. Sliding to a stop, she takes aim at the terrorist on her right, rapid firing a yellow beam at him as the others turn their attention onto her. Her target is steadily pushed back as he covers his face. she fires an ice missile at him before flipping away to place everyone in front of her. She takes a quick glance at the person she hit with a missile. He appears to be unconscious. Good enough for now, she'll finish him off later.
As the bullets start flying, she evades by strafing them as she activates her targeting system. A good chunk of the bullets hit, as Samus is forced to admit their accuracy and ability to lead their shots is impressive. She successfully marks five separate targets, and releases the volley of missiles. Each target's aura shatters as they fall to the ground, unable to continue battle. Seven down, five to go. The three with ranged weaponry take priority. She fires two missiles at one of them, the first shattering her aura while sending her to the ground, the second missing and striking a pillar. She locks on to the other four and lets loose another volley of storm missiles. Samus's shield energy has taken quite a hit from the gun fire, costing her three whole energy tanks.
She looks to check on the Ferries. They're gone. First wave of evacuation complete. How are those two doing? It looks like they've taken care of all the Grimm. Maybe she can have those two get some rest now, and give Samus some time to figure out how to replenish her energy.
"Look out!"
Samus snaps to look at the two again, only to see the robots that were just a minute ago fighting off Grimm now shooting at Blake and Weiss. "What the hell?"
"LADY, SOMEONE IS ATTEMPTING TO CONTACT YOU."
"Put them through." Samus responds as she dashes to the nearest robot, her hand open in a claw and glowing a bright pink.
"Samus, somebody's hijacked the Paladins and Knights! We're trying our best here, but we're making no progress in regaining control."
"That explains what's happening here." Samus replies as she latches on to the robot, hand cracking the glass face of the automaton. Yellow energy flows from across the robot, and into her hand for a few seconds before the flow stops. She lets the robot fall to the ground, unmoving. The action replenishes what little ammo she used, but only fills up a single energy tank. Honestly, Samus feels lucky to even get that much: Since fully awakening her Metroid genes, she noticed that refilling her energy tanks has become more difficult. Of course, she suspects the best way to refill them is to absorb the bioenergy of living things. Something she is somewhat hesitant to do, out of concern of loosing control.
"Also we have a single ferry en route to Beacon carrying students from the huntsman academies, but it's only there for an arial deployment, the White Fang has started shooting anything that isn't their own out of the sky. Between them and the hijacked knights, chances of getting a ship to evac points are low, much less getting them out of there."
"Dammit. Copy that. So we'll have to eliminate hostile presence before Evac?" Samus uses her beams to destroy the other robots. As usual, diffusion shots wreak havoc on their internal components, while, surprisingly leaving the chassis relatively intact, however, her non-plasma shots are ineffective, borderline useless on anything except the joints.
"Affirmative."
"Copy. Samus out." Figures that happens after the first round. At least the ships got out safely.
She looks back to see that Blake and Weiss are handling themselves just fine. Weiss has just dealt with a large group of robots seemingly using those glyphs to propel herself forward, while Blake is sending the White Fang flying like cardboard. The same cannot be said for the younger students. With how suddenly the Atlesian robots turned on them, most of the students did what they could to ensure that the civilians were not hurt. four are lying on the ground. Others are nursing their wounds, many of their limbs injured. Three of them, however seem to be using pieces of destroyed robots to fight back.
Samus looks around the sky, looking for the ferry and spots it near the tower, being targeted from the ground by dozens of knights. At least a dozen figures jumping out as it flies by, not even slowing down. Huh. So that's when he meant by arial deployment. Before even touching the ground, she hears gunfire and explosions coming from the new arrivals.
She takes stock of the situation at the courtyard. The white fang seem to have been driven off for the most part, Grimm seem to be flocking towards the city rather than Beacon, a sure sign that there are very few people in beacon right now, and all the Atlas robots in the area have been destroyed.
"Blake, Weiss, Great job holding them off."
The two young girls look proud to receive the praise. Weiss's proud look falls as she looks at the young Signal students, laying on the floor. "Are they...?"
"SCANNING... VITAL SIGNS DETECTED FROM ALL INDIVIDUALS."
Samus lets out a deep sigh. "No. They're alive. If only just hanging on. They saved everybody here." Both girls are visibly relieved at the confirmation. "However, Evac is on hold until we get rid of the Knights and White Fang."
"What?!"
"Are you serious?"
"Yes, unfortunately. With both parties shooting any bird that comes close, evacuating by air is a no go. Good news is, reinforcements have been dropped off by the tower. Since things are quiet here, I want to rendezvous with them, make sure they don't get pinned down."
"Right! let's go," Weiss declares.
"Wait, what about Yang?" Blake asks.
"Who?"
"Our teammate" Weiss quickly clarifies before turning back to Blake. "And she's probably with the others."
"And if she's not?"
Weiss doesn't respond, having no counter to it.
"You two go on ahead, I'll look for Yang. Call me if you find her." Blake says.
"I- Ok. Be safe."
"You too."
Suddenly, the ground quakes. Once. Twice. "What the hell is going on?" Samus asks.
With a deafening boom a nearby mountain peak shatters, and from the fragments, a massive, black dragon emerges, rearing its head in a mighty roar, heard moment later. Beating its velvety wings in both color and texture, it soars over the ruins of Mountain Glenn with terrifying speed, making its way towards Vale. As it passes over the city, it seemingly drips masses of its own body to the ground, pools of blackness that coalesce into newly-born creatures of Grimm.
"Jesus Christ." Samus mutters, taking a sturdy stance as the force from the dragon's wings tries to blow them away. The Dragon passes by them, and circles Beacon Tower, dropping Grimm in the area around the tower, where the newcomers are. "Let's go Weiss. We need to link up and strategize." Things are getting worse and worse. And by the looks of it, Weiss knows it just as much. As callous as it sounds, she's already regretting letting Blake go off on her own.

Approaching the tower, Samus sees the Beacon students at a pavilion not far from the base, numbering 14 in total. Gunfire rings out everywhere.
A woman with sunglasses and a beret hails them, "HEY! You're the huntress the pilot told us about, right? Coco. Coco Adel." She says, holding out a hand.
"We can exchange pleasantries later, right now things are calm at the evac point, but the knights make it too risky for the ferries to enter the airspace."
"Dammit, that sure complicates things." Coco says with a scoff.
"Exactly. So in order to ensure the evac proceeds smoothly we are to draw as much attention from the knights as possible, allowing the ferries the safety to land. I recommend sending a small team to take the evacuees to the airdocks and help the soldiers drive off attackers just in case. Any objections?" An indignant ADAM grunts.
"Yeah, that works. FNKY! Think you guys can handle that?"
As team FNKY takes off, Samus sees a large number of Grimm and robots coming towards them. Perfect timing.
