ISABELLA MATTIA✥
Yesterday I was informed that the Dean wanted to see me in his office. I have a few ideas on what it's about but I chose not to dwell until I am there in front of him and hearing it through my own ears and not my own thoughts.
My phone buzzes in my hand as I walk through the corridors up to the Dean's office. I glance down at the screen to find an unknown number pop up. My brows crease as my thumb presses down on the notification.
Unknown Number: Hey, it's Kory. I hope this isn't too weird. Sophia gave me your number and I wanted to ask how everything is? Jenson is a dickhead and I'm glad you punched him. If he really pulled that stunt at the lake then I don't blame you. I'm sorry for how everything went down. You didn't deserve that.
I stare at the message completely dumbfounded before punching out a message in response. He was nice to me at the party and told Jenson to back off but I have no idea why someone like him would want to be friends with someone like Jenson.
Isabella: It's fine. I'm glad I punched him too. He deserved much more but I thought I'd let him hold some of his dignity.
Kory: I don't condone his shitty behaviour. It's bad enough we have training together but now we're all mingled in a friendship group, things are harder now. I'm desperate to distance myself from him, he's not a very good friend. He only thinks about himself.
Isabella: I'm not going to tell you what to do, Kory. Just know that hanging around someone like that automatically makes people think the whole group are assholes.
Kory: God, that's the last thing I wanted to hear.
Kory: Ugh. Do I look like too much of an asshole to go out with? It doesn't have to be a date, I just want to get to know you better.
Isabella: To get to know me better?
Kory: Yeah, I enjoyed talking to you at the party until your bodyguard interrupted us.
My head automatically glances over my shoulder at Elio trailing a few feet behind me.
Isabella: Can't say he's going to be happy about this either.
Kory: Then let's call it a coffee and study date–not date. You get me?
I smile down at my phone and clutch it a little tighter. I pray I'm wrong about the friendship group and Kory is genuinely sincere but I'm not worried, I can handle myself and I'm more than prepared to punch two assholes if need be.
Isabella: Okay, let me prepare Elio first. I don't want him ruining that too.
Kory: Can't wait :)
I tuck my phone back into my pocket and pause outside the Dean's office. It's two o'clock and that's what it said in the email. My chest huffs out a breath before I raise my knuckles and knock. A strong, "Come in," blasts through the door.
My hand presses down onto the handle as I turn to Elio standing opposite the door. "I'll be out soon," I tell him.
Elio merely nods before I disappear inside. My eyes fall on Dean Wesley who could be compared to a wizard with his white beard and round glasses, although the turtle neck jumper he's wearing ruins that aesthetic.
"Isabella," he nods. "Take a seat."
I sit down in front of his desk and cross one leg over the other. "So..." I trail off when he leans forward on his elbows. "What's this about?"
