Minami and her group landed in the Arctic Circle and the cold took them instantly and they could feel the immediate change in temperature

Minami: (freezing) Good days it's cold...

She hugged herself and then serafall used her magic to make some warmer clothing for them to use they started warming up and Lock jumped out of her arms and grew slightly larger and not his full height

Sona: okay so where do we go from here?

They looked around each other and there was nothing, besides a few dead trees and a blizzard that was picking up its intensity, they could feel the wind starting to swirl around them blinding them more

Minami: we need to see what's causing the world's currents to act as they are, shin told me about needing to try and stop them since they are the reason most weather occurrences happen.

They nodded and started moving through the snow, the wind was strong enough to start pushing them back they figured that Akari was already doing her thing given the raw intensity of the wind, lock grew a bit more and kneeled down infornt of them letting the girls jump onto his back. As he walked through the snow while vali walked beside it

Vali: besides penguin shit, I don't smell anything else

They themselves tried looking for anything and couldn't find much when they really tried they couldn't find anything which confused them they were only picking up each other.

Grayfia: not only that there's no life here besides us...

When she pointed that out it started becoming clear what was going on something was very off the lack of life even under the water was concerning, they were now stuck and didn't know where to go.

Minami(confused) but there's meant to be tons of animals in the area like foxes or hares what happened here?

Vali: well clearly something is here

Sona: but what? besides this massive blizzard, we can't see anything, even if there was something we probably walked past it at this point...

They looked around and nodded in agreement

Minami: then we make shelter

She used her ice abilities with Serafall and made an igloo for them all to sit in lock sat in his small form on her lap and she gently stroked his back. There was a brief silence while everyone was catching their bearings

Serafall: don't suppose anyone brought a lighter?

They all shook their heads and tried their best to not let the cold really get to them since they were ice users it wasn't as bad but at the same time this cold was different very different

Sona: perhaps the weather is reacting to something

They were about to comment on her statement when vali took all their attention

Vali: or something is causing it...

Sona: (confused) What do you mean?

They all looked at him and noticed his eyes were deep blue and scales started growing off his face but he was looking below them below the ice they were standing on

They looked down and saw tons of dead walruses and polar bears... all slaughtered in cold blood and froze under the water.

Vali: it's starting to make more sense now....

All of them: we in its feeding grounds...

A large gust of wind hit the igloo and they could feel a different pressure around them, and it started getting colder as they just got used to the already current weather around them.
