BONUS CHAPTER 1: MY RELIGION IS HER

ALLESSIO'S POV

Silence greeted me when I stepped foot in the basement. Thank fuck for that. I thought I was going to be deaf with all the screaming from this piss-ant. He never tires of it. I tortured a lot of people, and yet it's like this one can't get a clue that there's nothing he can offer me that can make me stop.

People always start with begging and bargaining, but it didn't take long before their cries became different. When from begging for their lives, they'll start to plead for their ends.

But Asher Kensington held on to his life longer than most, as if he still believed that he had something that I wanted. There is one. I want him to live so that I can have my fun for a long time.

My jaw hardened at the thought. I don't want to kill him, not because I can't but because I simply don't want to. If not for the reason that I don't want to give my gattina a reason to be mad at me, I wouldn't be here. It wasn't long since I had my ring on her finger and the last I wanted is to make her angry. I don't want to see her looking at me again as if she wanted to castrate me like she did that one time.

A week after we came back here from the Philippines, Haven asked me to stop all this. Not because she cares for this fucker, but because whether she admits it or not, a part of her still believes that I have a soul worth protecting.

The thing is, my soul is as dark as the night sky. Even my heart is more black than charred coal. The only time that my soul resurfaces from the pool of darkness it enjoys swimming in is when I'm with her. The only time that my heart reminds me that it's still inside my chest is when I'm with her.

I wouldn't have survived this life if I didn't kill the part of myself that I was before I became a made man. Even my father is just like that. As his son, I may have his love, but he's only truly alive when he's with my mother.

A screeching sound echoed in the bleak, cold room when Fierro pulled the steel sliding gate open. I tip my chin, and Lorenzo who was standing beside him, opens the lights, following my silent command.

Asher Kensington's head jerked up. His only working eye grew fearful of what's coming next.

He's strapped into a chair soiled by his blood. Among other things. Lorenzo makes sure to give him a freezing hose down from time to time because this place is reeking with his smell. There's also an IV line connected to him, providing him with more nutrition than we're feeding him. He's even being monitored by Idalion's doctor. Despite his condition, he's the healthiest man that has ever been in this place. He's like a pig we are fattening up.

"I really hate seeing you go, but I guess this is the end." I shook my head, letting disappointment color my face. "It's such a waste. With your tongue cut off, I can torture you all I want without getting a migraine from all your pleadings to be freed."
