Entrancing. Golden eyes painted with red eyeshadow, contrasting beautifully with the glow of her skin and the single strands of green hair falling into her face. Her lips held the same crimson hue, their shape accentuated by the lipstick. The rest of her hair was neatly put up into an elegant bun, decorated with various golden pins and clips in the shape of spider lilies. Her lashes appeared darker, decorated with makeup as well, perfectly framing her eyes, which were set on the four people in front of her. She tucked the golden embroidered belt of the dark green kimono she was wearing into place, tightening it slightly around her waist. She had learned how to put on a kimono during a diplomatic visit to Inazuma, together with Morax. A sigh left her lips as she reminisced about those bygone days. Her nails were filed into a sharper shape than before, something she had done earlier this night. It wasn't really a practical choice, more so a stylistic one. She somehow had to keep up with all the flashy, luxurious surroundings in the Red Light district after all. Silence struck the room as her companions eyes set on her. The only noise that could be heard was the slight rustling of the servants working in the other rooms and the chatter of the busy nightlife outside their inn. The adeptus raised an eyebrow, putting her hands on her hips, slightly cocking her head with an almost waiting expression.

„Well?"

Her voice held a sliver of vulnerability. Y/N was never one to dress up, not even for events like the lantern rite. Sure, there had been very few occasions where she had worn more ceremonial garments. One time, she had been invited to have tea with Morax and attended in rather formal attire. Not her usual choice, but Cloud Retainer could be rather convincing back in the day. Or when Ganyu insisted that the two would go shop for clothes together and ended up buying Y/N an array of dresses and traditional gowns just because „they fit her eyecolour" or „she looked cute in them". While Y/N didn't dislike it, in fact, she found herself to look quite good in those dresses, she found wearing them impractical for battle. And that was her duty. Protect Liyue harbour through battle. And now, protect the people she had come to cherish through battle. A thud pulled her out of her thoughts. Zenitsu had sunken to his knees, whispering prayers of thanks to the gods in the skies. Tears welled up in his eyes as he looked at her.

„Thank you for bestowing me with this blessing. My life shall now be illuminated by her never-fading light-"

A smack on the back of the head by Tengen made Zenitsu fall over and land face first on the ground, yet he still kept mumbling the words. Former looked her up and down, his gaze stopping on her neckline. He swallowed, taking in the sight before him. This.. Y/N was not something he had expected. Sure, she had been beautiful before, with her gleaming golden eyes and her demon slayer uniform, but this was on an entirely different level. He couldn't tear his eyes from the delicate curve of her cheeks, the way her jewellery shimmered in the lights of the room, the gold parting her green curls like sunlight parting the crowns of a tree upon dawn. She looked regal. Fit to be an oiran, hells, fit to be a goddess, worshipped in a temple. He couldn't help but notice his heart skipping a beat, something he was only feeling around his wives. At least until now. The tattoo on her left arm was covered by the sleeve of the kimono, her mask hanging loosely on the back of the belt, below the green ribbon holding it together. Tengen opened his mouth, trying to express his admiration for Y/N's appearance, yet all that came out was..

„Not bad.. not bad at all. I really didn't expect a gruff woman like you to be able to look this flashy and feminine, Y/N."

Y/N's upper lip curled into a small frown as she looked up at the taller man.

„If that was supposed to be a compliment, you need to work on articulation, Uzui. And me being blunt does not make me less feminine, thank you very much."

The sound pillar raised his hands in a gesture of surrender.

„That's not what I meant at all. I merely meant to say that I've never seen you like this, you know? All dolled up and fancy. It really suits you. You fit right in with me now!"
