I tied the rope onto the fan. I stand on the dining chair putting the rope around my neck crying tears started dropping on the floor.
FLASHBACK
10 years old Minjeong is playing at the playground happily. Her grandmother is siting watching her playing. "Grandma look!!" She slides down happily. She started running towards the swing feeling excited to play since this is the only chance she can play.
Only when she's with her grandparents. Her parents didn't even give a fuck when she ask if she can play outside. As a good kid she didn't go out since her parents ignore her every single time.
"Minjeong-ah! don't run you will fall!" As her grandma says that she fell scratching her knee. "WAAAA!!!" She screams as tears runs down her cheeks. Her grandma went towards her dusting her pants.
"Aigoo, I told you to be careful." Minjeong is sobbing as she continue to cry into her grandma's arms. Her grandma brought her to the near bench patting her to soothe her. "Shh... Minjeong look at me."
Minjeong look up at her grandma her eyes glassy and her nose red from crying. Her grandma smiled softly
"Minjeong is a strong girl right?" Her grandma asked her softly tucking her hair behind her ear. "Crying won't solve anything. There's a cut on your knee what should we do?"
Minjeong sniffs. "Put bandage?" Her grandma's smiles widen. "That's it! Good girl!" Her grandma reaches for bandaid in her handbag putting it on Minjeong's injuries. "There we go." She pats it gently. She smiles wiping the tears away from Minjeong's cheeks.
"Minjeong-ah listen. No matter what happened and how painful it gets. You need to be strong. You're the strongest little girl grandma ever met." Minjeong's face brighten. "Really?" Her grandma nodded.
"Very strong. Remember this. If you fell. Put a bandaid on it and..." Her grandma pretends to think. "Get an ice cream!" Minjeong shouts excitedly. "Yes! Ice cream! Let's go!" Both of them walk to the ice cream shop.
"Grandma."
"Yes sweetheart?"
"You said if we hurt outside we need to put a bandaid what if we hurt inside?"
She smiles softly
"Listen Minjeong. I know you're too young for me to say thing but, I don't know when will I get to tell you this because I don't have much time left. If you're hurt in the inside just tell yourself everything is going to be alright. Even if things is not right you still had tomorrow and the day after. Things will get better. Remember this Minjeong. Don't ever give up in life. Patience is the key. There will be someone in the future waiting for you in the future to who will be the bandaid for your broken heart."
Minjeong tilted her head making her grandma chuckles. "You will understand it once you grew older. Just don't give up in life okay? One day once I'm gone you need to remember what I said okay?" Minjeong hugs her grandma's side.
"No!! I don't want grandma to be gone!" The old woman laughs patting Minjeong's head. "I promise! I won't give up no matter how bad my life turns out!" They linked their pinky finger together.
END OF FLASHBACK
I cried on the floor screaming. "Grandma... I miss you... I can't do this anymore!" I curled up on the floor gripping onto my shirt. Then I felt my hair being stroked. "Shh... Minjeong-ah you promise to me you won't give up right?" I heard my grandma's voice after years.
"Grandma...this is too harsh for me..." I said crying holding onto her hand. "My poor Minjeong. Minjeong-ah do this for grandma and grandpa okay? we are always watching you from the above." I gripped onto her hand tight knowing this is my imagination. It felt too real.
"Rest my child. You need a rest. Grandma will be here." I felt myself calmed down slightly before I fell asleep.
A/N: why did I cry writing this? I imagine it's my grandma🥹
